Hi all!
I am excited about this program. Learned about it from a couple of co-workers and decided to give it a try. I was doing relatively well the first week. But for some reason went to flunkersville the 2nd week. I have at least 30 pounds to lose and want to be rid of meds for high blood pressure, GERD (acid reflux), etc. Any tips on being consistent would be helpful. I am READY to take the plunge once again! Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers!

    Dear tjbthomas,
I hope you don't take this wrong...or as me being a bully because I'm totally not!! But let me ask you this. Who allowed you to go to flunkersville? You are in charge. You are the one driving your car......How bad do you want to lose those 30 pounds and get off those meds? Don't go down the road that takes you to flunkersville, go the other road that takes you to health and fitness (and happieness) It's not always an easy road, but it's definitely doable. Good luck to you and I really mean that. Lisa from California.
  • WOW! Thanks Lisa,
As I wrote the post, I was thinking the exact same thing, I am in charge of what happens to me, I just needed confirmation. I welcome your words of encouragement. Thanks a million!
  • Thanks Puffins,
    We CAN make this happen!

    Hello
just wanted to say don't get down on yourself to hard. You just started and you need to practice the good way of eating and exercising. I was told it takes 21 days to learn a good habit. You can do it. I'm not just saying that because I did the same thing you are trying to do (130 lb and kept it off for a year now). Good nutrition, exercise and consistency will get you to where you want to be! btw I have fallen a lot of times too.

My best advice is to start of making changes slowly, don't just dive in head first and cut things out of your diet cold turkey. Start with simple, good choices such as passing up that burger for lunch and choosing a salad. You have to pace yourself so that you are able to stick to the lifestyle changes. Remember successful weight loss is about lifestyle changes, not dieting.

I agree with the other posters, you are in control of your own weight loss. I wish you the best of luck, and stay motivated.

A side note, I had a lot of tummy issues such as acid reflux and stuff and mine went away when I began eating a lot more of a plant based diet and making meat a side item on my plate.

Couldn't have said it better! You CAN do this. You have everything you need within you to lose that 30 lbs. And you will feel SO GREAT when you do! But you have to want it more than anything. Every day you will be faced with choices....make good ones! That doesn't mean you can't allow yourself a treat. You should definitely plan for those. But planning for it is key. If you don't have the calories left to make it work, either skip it or get busy earning them with exercise! It's all in the planning. You got this!
