Carry Over Calories?

Okay, so yesterday I was out walking. A lot. That, in combination with my morning run (which, since it was a weekend, was longer than usual) gave me quite a few extra calories. By the time I had totaled what I'd burned and what I'd eaten (a lot of fruit and veggies and no meat, so not a lot of calories) I'd discovered that I had 1,000+ calories free by the time I went to bed.
Today I feel that trail mix is calling to me. At least 600 calories worth of it. What I want to know is if people do the carry-over thing now and again (if I do it this time it'll be my first) or if others are strictly of the "today is a new day" philosophy. I can understand not carrying over 200 calories or so, but 1,000? Is that too much to just leave hanging?
Thanks in advance for the advice!

If I've exercised hard over a couple of days and not eaten enough, I do find I am really hungry the next day. Then I usually head for the cottage cheese as I feel some protein might be in order. I don't worry if I'm over one day and under the next, but I'm now on maintenance.
If you're hungry you need to eat, whether it's trail mix or something else is your call, I'm not reallysure what it is or how healthy it is. I was thinking of Bombay mix, but I think it might not be as bad as that!0 -
Back in my WW days, you could carry over activity points and I would do that and I would still lose weight. The program has changed since then.
I would play around with it and see if it works for you. If you are able to still lose weight by doing this, then I say go for it. It might not work for everyone.0 -
You should consume 3,500 less than you burn in a week to lose one pound. It doesn't really matter when you consume them or burn them within that week, but you are generally more successful if you spread both out. In your case, I would eat the extra if it is calling you and then get back to business as usual.0

I think as long as your weekly calorie deficit is good, that's all that matters. When I was on WW, they let you use your exercise points all week. Yesterday I had a 1500 calorie deficit, according to my bodymedia, so if I go over today I won't care that much.0

Just remember that your body is a 24 hour business. It doesn't care when you consume what calories.0
