QUESTION OF THE DAY...Can the scales lie?

  • Well you body weight can fluctuate during they day I think between two to three lbs heavier than in the morning...

    Typically the bigger you are the more your bodyweight can swing due to water weight. I'll show about 5lbs of variance max.

    If they're broken, yes. It's also good to weigh first thing in the morning, after you've been to the toilet but before you eat or drink anything, otherwise you're weighing you + your breakfast, or you + the contents of your bladder.

    It's normal for body weight to fluctuate up to 5lbs from day to day depending on how much you've eaten, how much water weight you're retaining, etc.

    Yup, they can! I always magically gain 2-3 pounds during the day, and then they disappear the morning after. Depends how much you eat and drink, how much your sodium intake was that made you retain that water, etc. The scale can be evil at times XD...
