Sales Girl stressing about lunches to go...

I work at a job where I am on the road during the day. My customers are restaurants, convenience stores and other places that make me hungry. Grabbing lunches as I go helped me get to the weight I am at now and I need to stop. I try to eat at home as much as possible but often it's hard to schedule and/or too far to go. When I am driving I pack and eat healthy snacks to get me through but I need a warm lunch. I don't want to be that crazy person who is sitting in front of my clients business eating a salad in my car or heating up my lunch in my customers microwaves.
I'm looking for ideas on how to eat healthy (recipes or anything) while still getting my warm lunch fix without spending too much. Thanks

If you have the time in the morning, heat up some soup and put it in a thermos before you leave the house. It'll still be hot when it's time to eat, and there are some GREAT low calorie, yet hearty options out there. I know you said that it's weird to be throwing down food in your customer's parking lots, but you could always stop on the way to your next one and eat in someone else's parking lot.0

try soup in a thermos, with a sandwich you can also pack casseroles or other things in a thermos and have it all warm and ready when you are.0

Unfortunately, it sounds like you're in quite a pickle. You want a warm lunch, but don't want to pay or rather use your clients' stuff...the only thing I can say is maybe you should consider cold lunches from now on. Granted their not as good as warm (I quite agree there), but there are some pretty tasy alternatives, or you can try stopping in at a store that may have a deli, and get a warm healthy lunch. I wish I could offer some other kind of advice, but they haven't invented the mini-portable microwave yet. You know, the one that plugs into your cigerette lighter lol. You could also try making warm sandwiches before you leave home, and puttine it in a portable wipe warmer...I know it sounds crazy, but it just might work. The older wipe warmers that plug into your car cigerette lighter are large, and square, about the size of a wipe box. Get you one, and if you can't find one with a cigerette lighter adaptor, get a cheap little converter for your care. It's this spiffy little box that you get at AutoZone, and it plugs into your cigarette lighter, and at the other end has two plugs for, well anything I guess. I mean, I have one and I've plugged in a TV, VCR, hair dryer, and all kinds of other things....anyway get one of those and the wipe warmer, and wrap your desired healthy food in foil and stick it in there and it'll at least keep it warm. Granted it won't be hot, but it's better than eating fast food! Just an idea! Read warning labels on the products first. I don't want to give advice that might make your car explode or something. Goodluck!

Actually they do have warmers that are like mini-ice chests that plug into you cars lighter. You can find them with camping stuff. Put a hot lunch in there and it should still be plenty warm at lunch time.

I'm definitely not down with blowing anything up, but it's a great option. Soup is good, I can handle that a few times a week and try to work to go home and eat at least once or twice. I get this terrible urge to hit a drive through so i just need to bump up my will power (I think having food on hand that is good, healthy and warm will help tremendously) and when I do eat out, I need to make healthy decisions.
Pita Pit, extreme pita (sorry US citizens I don't know if you have these yet) and subway are good choices but do you have any other options? What I have done is grab a fruit bowl and other healthy options at a grocery store and eat in a park but the Northern Alberta winter was a hard one and that became less of an option.

Think about it.... how many families do you see that use a TV (DVD/VCR) to keep their kids occupied in the cars these days. Too many people do not know how to di it without electronics!
