p90X calorie excess

I am planning on starting p90X nov 1. I am currently 180lbs 17.5% BF. My goal is to gain some muscle mass / definition over the next 90 days. I am thinking I will do phase one at approximately my maintenance calories, and phase two and three at a 300-500 calorie excess. I will probably follow this with insanity and a calorie deficit to cut BF / weight going into next summer.

Any thoughts from you p90Xers from doing the program with a calorie surplus?

    hey go to teamripped.com and look at coach waynes videos he was 6'5 255 and lost 14lbs each of the three months he did p90x. He cut up and gained lean muscles really well. Most important he was on a 1800-1900 calorie a day diet cutting plan. His team ripped website is great for p90x and insanity. I am currently doing insanity and its insane. I already had a lot of muscle so I am just cutting up and its working ! DIET IS MOST IMPORTANT !
