Hmm...I don't think there really is a healthy way to fry it, but you could always dredge and bread the fish then bake it with a very light amount of oil. You will still get the crispness, but nothing really replaces frying it...though if somebody has another suggestion I'd like to know!
I love English pub style batter and fried fish, and I miss it!

I am with you on the English pub style fish!. Now i want some!!!
  • Try oven fried fish. Coat the fish in egg whites and you roll it in bread crumbs. Once you've done that, spray both sides of the fish with Pam so that it breadcrumbs will stick. Bake in in the oven on 375 degrees for about 30 mins or until it's crispy to your desire. I really enjoy it.

Actually, check out hungry-girl.com. Theres a fish recipe on there thats breaded using fiber one and its awesome. Its not fried, just baked... but still gives the crispy outside like it was fried. She has the same kind of things for chicken also. Yum yum!

use Panko breadcrumbs and use a very small amount of peanut oil in the pan (around 2 to 3 tblspoons max. ) If you put a squeze of lemon juice on it as it's frying, it helps to keep it pretty moist.

I won't lie, it's not quite as good as throwing a whole 6 oz of vegetable oil in a pan and going to town. But it's a LOT better for you, and still tastes pretty good.

Personally, I prefer baking it with lemon juice and a small amount of butter and a whole heck of a lot of italian seasoning, but that's just me.

If you're going to bake it definitely use Panko breadcrumbs, it adds that crunchy fried texture without the fat! FYI turn the over up high the last few minutes to brown a little

Panko + Extra Virgin olive oil!
Or use the fake-fry method above with some egg white/egg substitute and ground fiber one cereal/panko.
