Hello everyone!
I put off losing my extra weight for years. I have been a "big guy" since high school when my size was a good thing on the football field. Had life gone different I would have been playing football in college, but my beautiful daughter being brought into the world put that on hold. I was 6' 4" and 250 pounds then.
Now I am 6'6" and a surprising 359 pounds. My daughter is 13 years old and for the first time I am starting to feel like an old man. Isn' t it amazing how a child nearing high school age can do that to a person! I am done saying " I will lose this weight some day." A few months back I jumped head long into diet and exercise. It is surprisingly fun! I have 150 pounds I would like to lose, and ultimately I wouldn't mind training to run the occasional marathon. This all really started when I realized running up the stairs got me winded!
I am 5 pounds down and a long way to go, but I am enjoying the journey. Relearning how to eat and exercise is interesting even if the sore muscles are not! I have a real love and hate relationship with the elliptical trainer! I manage about 2.5 miles on it about 4 days a week. I have been doing a bit of light weight training and the tone is making its way back.
Just wanted to introduce myself.... say good luck to everyone out there. I love the site so far. Seems to really help.
Love, peace, and chicken grease,
