What can I do for acne!? What is the best face pad because those things are convenient. I never have to time to do the whole 10 minute pro active thing my ADHD won't let me focus on something that long. Does anyone know what the best face pad is? Thank you MFP!

Also, I have been sick and am on a anti biotic. Should I just take it easy and not each much for next few days?

My daugher uses Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash and Noxema pads. She isn't real good about washing her face twice a day but it seems to help. It is hard to say what to use without knowing your skin type though. Sometimes those pads can be really harsh.

As far as the antibotics and eating less, don't do it. If you are sick, your immune system is down anyway and eating less could make it worse. Stay in your calorie range and eat healthy foods and drink lots of water.

I used to have it really bad for years. Kids would ask me if I had the chicken pox! Try a product called Boscia. You can get it at Sephora in JC Penny's. It has the 3 step stuff, but I swear by it. I've been using it 3 years now and mostly just wash my face and use the moisturizer now. I even sleep in my makeup!!(bare essent.). It's very gentle and doesn't have any of the stinging sensations that most chemical products have. People now comment on how good my skin looks!! So it worked for me. Maybe it will work for you.

    Good luck.
  • Drinking lots of water helped me. I use Sea Breeze once a day to get the dirt and oil out of my pores.

I've been going to a dermatologist for the past few weeks to clear up mine because like you, I wanted a quicker way to wash my face & it just wasn't working for my type of acne. Now I'm on a pro-active like product called Alyria. I have three different washes & it takes a little under two minutes for the whole treatment. It's really worth it to take a few minutes a day to take care of yourself, the smooth texture & the improvement is sooo worth it! I'm also on a mild anti-biotic to help as well along with weekly chemical peels. But, the face wash alone is making a huge difference! Like the others mentioned, everyones skin and acne is different and requires different degrees of treatment.

    Best of luck!

I don't know if it's actually because of it... but I've been taking green tea supplements and my acne isn't as bad as it had been.

and I've been battling with bad acne for 7 or 8 years.

if it really is the green tea, I wish I'd found this out way back then!

I used to use products containing tea tree oil, and used the concentrated oil on a cotton swab to dab directly onto the worst pimples.
It dries skin out very quickly, I wouldn't suggest an overall wash or toner containing it for dry skin, so if your skin is dry just use the dabbing method. If you have oily skin, it is great.
I had terrible acne even as an adult, and I know for most it isn't an option, but the one thing that cleared it up completely was becoming a vegetarian.
Drinking lots of water is always good for your skin.
