Tremendous foot pain spinning - solutions?

I’ve been spinning 1x a week for the past 6 months b/c that was the only class scheduled for us working folks, now there are more classes and I have been spinning 3x a week for the past 3 weeks and so the foot pain I’ve dealt with 1x a week is getting much worse with no time to heal and repeat usage.
It is the top left portion of my right foot that is hurting due to the pulling up of the pedal.
Solutions I’ve tried
- Use my left foot more dominantly
- Loosen the straps
- Tighten the straps
- Ensure my foot is in properly, not falling off
It’s like my foot is too big (I’m size 9 shoes if that really is a possibility) and hanging over the back too much causing this pull/tension resulting in pain and injury to probably a tendon in my foot.
I really don't want to quit spinning b/c of this stupid tiny injury. Pulling a calf muscle spinning, sure that is justifiable but bit**ing about what feels like a severely bruised foot seems like a dumb way to avoid activity.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Have you tried using the spinning shoes? I'm a size 10 and I know what you mean by the foot hanging.
This artilce might help, http://www.spinning.com/images/Picking_a_cycling_shoe.pdf
Foot pain or numbness is often the result of wearing soft-soled shoes. Special shoes designed for cycling have stiff soles that distribute pressure evenly over the pedal. This also helps you pedal more efficiently. Foot pain can also be caused by using too high a gear, which results in more pressure where the foot meets the pedal.

Thank you! I just may have to invest in a pair if I love spinning so much.0
