    sort of, an eclair has whipped cream in the center. this was thicker, like vanilla pudding or something of that consistency

    Dave, you are right. however, my little brother got his FOURTH DUI last night and is in jail. so I am stress eating. I know it, I'm not gonna deny it, but I am gonna log it. as soon as I finish figuring out what the f-ing thing is called.

    But of course, cannot go to NOLA and pass by Cafe Du Monde without stopping in. I probably ate enough of them for everyone here on MFP. :bigsmile: When I am in nice mommy/wifey mode I will make them at home too.

    I asked my daughter who is studying to be a pastry chef...they are called custard filled or boston cream donuts. I a Long John is usually rectanglar and is filled with custard or whipped cream. An eclair is actually a puff pastry filled with custard.
