So i've been doing cardio every morning and weight training every other day. I still cannot figure out how to get a jump start on this belly pudge. Is there anything in my diet that can change or things I should especially stay away from when trying to lose belly fat? My diet consists mostly of whole foods such as fruits, veggies and chicken and fish. Some bread is involved as well, but not much.

you can't choose where fat is lost in your body, all you can do is tighten up the muscles under the fat. But that really won't help how you look. Cardio is the best way to remove fat, but there's no magic formula specificlly for belly fat.

One thing I can tell you is stress releases cortisol, cortisol in your body without HGH and Testosterone to counteract it causes fat storage in specific areas, the most common of them is the belly. So if you have a lot of stress, that can hinder stomach fat loss.

I heard that some foods can help break down the fat that tends to get stored in the belly and around the organs. One of them is oatmeal. Not sure if this is true or not.....

Walking is always said to be really effective in targeting belly fat, not so much regular walking but hills and interval walking. I always think of Magic Mountain when I read about those exercises, hehe.

Oh, when you do cardio, start taking extra care in engaging your stomach muscles throughout your entire routine. Especially when you breathe out, tuck in from right above the pelvis and work your way up. It will improve the overall effectiveness of your cardio as well as increasing the burn around your belly area.

I am right there with you, I'm trying to get rid of the mommy bulg. I try to remember 100 times a day to engage my core, pull my bellybutton in and tuck in my stomach, and hold it for a count of 10. I try to do this while working out too. there is a book alled the MUMMY TUMMY, it had some good advice on the belly bulge. good luck.

thanx for the great advice everyone...it looks as if there is no easy way to rid myself of this abomination on my belly, but I kinda knew that anyway! I will keep working at it then and if anyone has any news please update me! Thank you again!

    Hi there

I'm also a member of the fat belly club
I thought loosing weight would help but no such luck
So I started walking on the treadmill....added yoga....the 30 days shred and some running (few minutes to start)
I think it is just the way I am 'made'...so I am trying to do what I can through diet and exc and make the most of it
I really feel unless i go the plastic surgery route I will NEVER have a completely flat/board tummy

You are exactly right. Not everyone is designed to have a flat belly. I know I am not and that is okay. I don't feel like I have to conform to some standard that it is not possible for me to meet I just want to be the healthiest me I can be.
