Hi, I joined MFP 5 days ago and have been shocked at how quickly the calories mount up daily with what I am eating. I am starting on the very long road of trying to go from 216lbs down to 140lbs. Hoping the daily log of my food intake will help me achieve my goal.

You will be able to do it... I went from 190 to 140 from keeping a food journal and trying to exercise every day... Good luck0

Hi Irish! My grandmother was Irish (last name Collins) and I always wanted to go there. Welcome to MFP. Its a terrific site. Its amazing how much logging your food & exercise can help-just need to be honest with yourself and log EVERYTHING so you can see where you need to change something.
