I have already hit a plateau...it happened so fast!

I was told to add in interval training to my cardio regime. So, now I do 90 mins of normal elliptical/walking, etc. and then add in 30 sec spurts of fast elliptical/running, etc. I also have finally added in some weight training (just a little bit).

Any other ideas to keep the weight loss going?

  • When I hit my first plateau, I switched my workouts up every day/week....I didn't have a 'set' routine which threw my body off. It worked and I pushed past the first plateau. I am currently in my second and trying not to get frustrated. Good luck and keep us posted when you push past that stupid plateau!
    Feel free to add me....

the first plateau I hit, I changed my workouts and that jump started it. I got 5lbs off before I hit the other one. That one I'm sad to say is still with me and it's been over 3 months. I've changed up everything and still nothing. I'm trying to decide if my body is telling me enough is enough. Try changing your routine for a few weeks and see if that helps.

Yes..I was gaining and losing the same 5lbs all while in a deficit for several months. I began upping my calories and keeping an eye on carbs now the scale is finally going down.

I hit plateaus everytime I take pounds off. I lose 4-5 pounds, then I hold steady for 2-3 days, or even go up a 1-2 pounds, then drop suddenly.

For me it seems to be the water I'm releasing..like yesterday I lost 3 pounds over the previous day, but I was in the bathroom more than usual. We'll see if I spike up tonight, or hold steady at least. Over 4-5 months I'm losing pretty much on an average that's straightline, with lots of flat spots and spikes up along that average line.

Me, I'm a daily weigher...also weigh myself going to bed to see if there's a correlation between dinner foods and the next morning's weight -- possible stomach very slow emptying, have GERD issues as well.
