Lack of exercise soreness?

Can lack of exercise cause muscle soreness? I haven't exercised for the past couple of weeks and now my upper back muscles and my quadriceps are aching. I'm guessing the solution is to start working out again.

    Yep!!

It is your body saying... "HI, I know you THINK you feel better... but we still have work to do here!! Now don't get me wrong, we appreciated the little break, but we need to get back to it"

I just started again after 7 week break (BAD IDEA)... now I am another 10 pounds up, but I am 2 weeks back in and starting to feel more regulated aches and pains again LOL! But the last few weeks of my 'break' were getting almost unbearably achey and stiff...

I get stiff just laying around for a couple days. My back and legs will ach.
  • Shockingly your muscles start deteriorating about 48 hours after you stop working out. So yeah they are pissed that you made them work so hard and now they are losing what you had gained. Consistency is extremely key. If it has been awhile since you worked out don't jump in right where you were or you will be exhausted back it up a little bit you're body will get to where it was fast because it has already been there . Hope this helps :)

Did I hear you need a butt kicking? LOL
Back at lil bro and the achiness will diminish. The fact that you do start to loss muscle afer 48 hours is true but it comes back quickly- muscle memory!
  • Thanks for backing up my info!!!!
