LADIES: MISSED PERIOD

i have been on MFP for 9 months. i was reguarly starting my TOM on the same day. Now in august i was 3 weeks late. september i was 3 weeks late and i have not started at all this month!!! what is going on?

my period is a few days late every month now since like August, and it only lasts for like 2 days.
i have a feeling it will stop comming soon
but I know mine is because of my running

Couldnt have said it better myself!! Lots of women get pregnant when they start loosing weight and exercising :flowerforyou: I cant WAIT to see an update!!0 -
If you have started exercising more than usual it can cause it to become lighter, irregular, or even disappear! lol0

After I started working out hard core I got my period for 2 weeks at a time and then 2 weeks off! It took about 6 months for my body to adjust!0

If you haven't already, take a pregnancy test (unless you aren't sexually active of course). I do know that losing weight can affect your hormones and your periods, but it can also mean that you aren't eating enough. I don't know your eating habits, but if you are eating very little, that may be the culprit, and its very unhealthy. If none of those apply, it may just be your body adjusting to your new weight and the loss of fat (because I've heard the amount of fat you carry affects the amount of hormones your body produces). But in all cases, call your doctor or OBGYN, since it has has happened more than once.0

i am not pregnant. i eat about 1600-2200 calories a day. i work out 6 days a week. just recently started lifting more in the last month0

Have you thought about asking a doctor and not a message board?
I missed mine once back in May, but my doc said that was do to my birth control and not exercise.. but for you, it could it be different. This month though I noticed I was a day earlier then normal.. so who knows.0 -

Changing the way you eat and working out can change your cycle. I wouldnt worry so much about it.0

Hey, I have poly cycstic ovaries and because of that I do not mentrate as often as I should..like once every 6-9 weeks. Sometimes I will go months without it and then when I do, it is horrible. I was told I was not able to have Children... I now have two, but I would highly recommend seeing a gynocologist. Not having regular periods can raise your chances of having cervical cancer. Also it is hard to loose weight when your not having a regular cycle.0

I've always worked out as 5-6 days a week but I've ALWAYS been irregular. What I did notice was that I became a little less irregular after nursing the little one.
Have you recently started a new/harder exercise plan? That's really the only thing that I can think of since you aren't pregnant...and possibly stress. Exercise hasn't effected my cycles but I know it does for others. Since you said it started being late in Aug can you think of any new eating or exercise changes?0 -

Mine started getting crazy too because I decided to eat vegetarian for a while. It was early in August and then when I went back to meat, it was 3 weeks late in September, so it could be dietary changes that is throwing your cycle off. As long as you know that you know that you know you're not preggo, then its not a problem............0

Im experiencing the same thing, i havent had mine for about 4 months now and i do cardio for 30-60 mins 5 times a week so im guessing the reason is from running but im still wondering as well if that is the reason, and i know im not pregnant so im guessing its my body getting used to the new changes of losing weight.0

It sounds like it may be from the lifting but I will say...if you were 3 weeks late in Aug.. and that pushed you 3 weeks late in Sept...then you wouldn't start until at least the first week of Nov, if your cycles have indeed adjusted by 3 weeks.

That's what happened to me. I went from 2 x per week to 6 times per week, with 1000 calories burns on sat and sun,0 -
I have been wondering, too, if exercise could affect it. I'm not complainging though!! It just adds to my better mood!!!0

I have been doing TurboFire for a month now and totally missed my period during that time (and I am definitely not pregnant, my husband is deployed! lol) So working out and eating differently can definitely alter your menstrual cycle. I take it as one less thing I have to worry about haha0

I saw this message board and had to post. I got my period a week early! I started working out again and I did kick boxing which was a lot of burnt calories. I am not sure if that affected it or not, but I had to post.0

You're too young and from what I can tell not underweight to not have a period... You should see a doctor just to make sure it's nothing.0
