How many telecommuters would take a dollar-an-hour raise to have to show up at an office four days a week?

i am in sales so most likely I would make it up in commissions. but the ability to work at home which I have done a majority of my career is priceless!

I had a job once where I could work from home at my own discretion. I did it 100% of the time and found that...I just didn't work. At home there were too many distractions that kept me from finishing my work. So no I wouldn't, I like my job and want to keep it =).

That being said, my commute to work is over 2 hours each way, so if the question was would I take a dollar an hour pay cut in order to have an office around the block from where I live that I could go to 4 days a week...**** yes I would!!!

Absolutely, between money saved on gas and time saved by not commuting (and let's face it, being able to work in my PJs!), it would pay for itself!

No, becase I work as a Teller Supervisor and then all the "crazies" would have to come to my house instead of the bank

I commute 50 minutes one-way. My gas costs roughly $300 per month. I would take this in a heartbeat.

Nope. I prefer to seperate my work from my home.

Heck yeah! I would probably break even with what I'd save in commuting costs.

I took an 8 dollar an hour pay cut to go from stress to stress free! I love it but now I am at the point I want more toys and clothes so I am going to do a few side projects and make some money online. I wouldn't mind working more from my location of choice.

At the time, no. I'm going from being a stay at home mom who has a disposable income to a little above entry level. I'm going to be poor as hell.

I'd take that deal even if it was only 2 days a week.

I don't telecommute, but, at certain times of the year, I frequently find myself working at home on weeknights or weekends. I am vastly more productive working from home because I am not distracted by insipid phone calls and e-mails and all the other garbage that goes on in most office settings. So if I worked from home, I would actually ask for a raise.

Im a structural engineer and as the rest of the world knows construction isnt the best trade to be in but i get enough to live a comfortable enough life cant complain plus more time in the gym lol

what if you have a salary rather than hourly wage?

Just a math problem. Subtract $2,080 from your yearly salary. Or $173.33 per month. or $40 a week.

what if you have a salary rather than hourly wage?

Then you adjust your salary by the $1/hour. If you work a 40 hour work week, that would be a reduction of $2,080.
