I came across this today and thought I'd share this here on MFP. I have actually had some dishes on this list not realizing how unhealthy they were.

Eye Opening - who would've thought a salmon dinner would contain 1,500 calories!

Disgusting. All these restaurants - and others who do the same thing - should be ashamed.

Wow - thanks for sharing. It truly is insane how many calories & sodium a restaurant can have it their food! You can make the same thing at home, save a lot of money & plus lots of calories and sodium!

Excellent article. I've run into that same horrifying conclusion many times when scoping out the online nutrition info prior to a restaurant outing. Those grilled chicken sandwiches seem so innocent -- who knew?!?!

I work part time at the one restaurant that is listed twice on that list (and has the #1 worse meal) and I am really kind of shocked that anyone would think some of these were healthy. But there are others that are totally surprising as well. Makes me not want to eat out.
  • Yes making stuff at home is great when you have the time to do so. I will be more careful ordering out and try to spend more time in the supermarket than in restaurants. Wouldn't it be great if we could all afford personal chefs?
  • WOW - it is amazing what those sauces etc. can pack on. I am actually trying to get in the habit of asking for no sauce or mayo stuff when ordering in a restaurant. Also, anytime I go out to eat now I look on line before hand at the nutrition part of the menus. (I don't always listen to myself, but its a start)

I find it surprising that anyone would think those foods were healthy to begin with.

They are trying to kill us. Seriously. They're in it with the pharmaceutical companies and health insurance companies. It's a conspiracy to keep us on meds and constantly having to go to the doctor.

Is there any truly healthy restaurant chains out there? I know of a couple local family owned restaurants in my town but they're so small they don't post their calories, so who knows for sure. One is all vegan and the other is all local ingredients, grass fed beef and cage free chickens/eggs.

I should start a REAL healthy restaurant with no meal over 500 calories. And all calories clearly posted. Wouldn't that be amazing?!?!?!?

All these restaurants are in cahoots with the pharm and insurance companies? More likely they are just putting on the menu what sells. It's not that restaurants are trying to kill you, they just don't care if you kill yourself as long as you pay for their food as the weapon.

Why would an insurance company want you to be sick anyway? They make more money from people like me that keep themselves healthy and only use insurance for annual well visits. Continually having to pay for meds and doctor visits just eats into their profit.

Thank you for sharing this! I have really noticed this since using MFP to track calories...what I used to think was a healhy choice when going out to eat really is not!!

Restraunts are very deceptive and are playing into the culture's desire to be healthy
