A friend is doing this 60 day juice detox after watching a documentary... She has lost a lot I MEAN A LOT of weight; about a pound a day the first 14 days now about a half pound.
But is this safe? I mean I dont know that I could go with out meat or carbs for 60 days but i could suppliment a snacks or even a meat or two if it;s not going to cause other problems...
What do you guys think?

She probably watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. If you follow the fresh fruits and vegetables that were used in the documentary then it wouldn't be harmful. Substituting it with over the counter sugar filled juices is not good. Plus, the alternative is being morbidly obese. That is more harmful to your body. You should watched the documentary. If you say that you can't go without this or that, then don't.0

The Master Cleanse is different from a juicing program. The Master Cleanse doesn't have ANY nutrients in it.0 -
I'll admit, I tried it a few months back, also after watching the documentary. I did not do just the juice though. I felt the need to chew, so I did the juice for breakfast and in between my meals and my meals consisted only of Fruits and Vegetables. Their website recommends you start this way at first. It was very difficult, about the third day I got a headache, but I worked my way thru it. By day 5, I felt like eating a cow, just to eat meat. But I stuck through it again and on day 7, I said ok enough I need something more.
The pure liquids affect your stomach also, you have to realize you are detoxing, so the liquids pretty much go right thru you. I will tell you, I never at any point felt BAD, I felt low, some what tired, but by day 5 your starting to feel like yourself again. And your gaining energy. Had I had the dicipline, I could have kept going, but I lacked the encouragement at home. I did lose 10lbs in that one week and I'm sad to say it came back just as fast....lol0
