Hi everyone! This post is for members of the Flying Machine Race Team Eagle 5

It was pointed out to me yesterday by one of our team mates that perhaps a thread should be started for us to say hi to everyone! See, I warned you all I'm really new at this group exercise stuff, so I had no idea that was something I should do.

So - I guess we can use this post as a way to get to know each other and check in on each other? Please feel free to shoot me suggestions on PM or on this, I really have no idea what I'm doing.

I joined this "race" to keep me accountable for working out every day. I dont have super amounts of weight to lose and I've pretty much got my diet under control. Whats killing me is getting to the gym or doing something thats a good calorie burn every day. I'm not looking to post HUGE numbers, but definitely consistent ones and then I'm hoping as I get back into it, the numbers will get bigger every day.

I can post more, but I want to make sure I dont get yelled at by peoples for doin this ;o) Hope to hear from you all!

This was a great idea to have our own thread! We can also post our calories here also.

I do still have a bit to lose, and new to competitions. I am in a Christmas challenge and a Harry Potter one. I am in the Ravenclaw house.

    Yes, I am a geek.

I am finishing up the 20 week Turbofire program, after tomorrow, I will have a recovery week, so I apologize if my calories burned are not as high. Then, insanity starts.

I better get back to work

I could post totals up if you all want - I'm keeping track of it on a spreadsheet on google docs -

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqKcf6joYFHwdDdzaEhCUjI1NTV6ei1URkFQNXpzNXc&hl=en_US

I think I made it public for everyone...

I'm kind of starting to doubt my leader skills here - you all are posting some amazing numbers. For me, winning this "game" is just to post numbers every day - even if it is just mowing my lawn. I'm hoping that as it progresses I'll get higher and higher numbers...but its tough. I am thinking of the team though, I promise...but I'm just starting to feel guilty that I don't do huge numbers everyday.

you are a great leader! no worries! some days I will only go for a 30 minute walk... or do something like mow the lawn... the most important thing is that you do something everyday! :drinker:

    So what does everyone do?

I'm an inside sales person at the moment - I sit ALL DAY. I am single, but I do have a pretty serious BF (here's hopin), I own a home and am going to night school for a degree in business (first one is in communication, that didnt get me far). No pets, no kids, but I still amazingly am so busy I can't find time to work out. How does that work?? Haha, silly life. I'm MAKING time to work out now.

Anyone else? I just felt like sharing...

I'm Tracy. I work in a beer bar (World of Beer) I absolutely love it, so much fun. I moved to FL (from WI) and started working there about a year and a half ago- drinking beer and the move has def added weight on for me.
I just recently moved to my own apartment a couple weeks ago, and it has helped me somewhat stay on track getting my work outs in. I am single, no time for guys. ha! I like my independence what can I say.

Tomorrow morning I plan on getting my 45 min cardio in with maybe a HIIT workout if I have the energy.

I'm a stay at home Mom, I have a soon to be 4 year old and a 7 month old baby. Happily married most days, we also have 3 cats and a dog. We live on 20 acres so there is all ways something to do, I'm tidying up our veggie garden this week trying to get everything canned and frozen before the frost arrives. I'm trying to fit my exercise around the kids, so some days I seem to get more done then others.

    Hi,

I'm Barb, I am married and we celebrated our 9th anniversary in August. We have a dog, who is adorable. I manage the Financial Planning and analysis for the company I work for, and I have one employee. I am at a desk all day, and I hate sitting so long. I get up to work out in the mornings before work, and try to get to the park at night or if I have time do a bonus workout. I am so tired of being overweight.

I am on a recovery week starting today, so I apologize if my numbers are not as good as they were since we started the race.

haha, so far I feel like I have so much in common with all my amazing team mates! I <3 beer, at heart, I'm a huge country girl (no really, I lived out west and was a cowgirl for 4 years on ranches), and now I"m in school with hopes of a career in finance - and I love dogs (I was a handler for the Iditarod one year)!

This is really helping me feel like I'm not alone here and making me feel great.

I do want to say though - i dont think any of us should apologize for the size of our numbers! I do honestly think we're going to do our best here (and ya know what, somedays, we're not going to be able to give much if anything at all). Some days we're rock stars, some days we're barely hangin on, but everyday, we're apart of this team!! WOOOO HOOO!!

Well, now that I've motivated myself for my morning walk - here's hoping I dont get yelled at by my boss (I was yelled at for being away from my desk more than 15 minutes even though i was in the building doing work after my 15 minute break...its awful).

    Hi Everyone!

I am a grad student (currently working on my PhD. in Fisheries Oceanography)... I'm a dork at heart... I also LOVE beer (it has contributed to my weight gain... alot... haha).

My boyfriend and I bought a house last year and have been fixing it up (it was a wreck). We have been together for 5 1/2 years... and I'm sure someday we will get married... we just aren't in any rush. We also have two big goofy dogs, Bandit (my profile pic) we have had since he was about 10 weeks old, and we just recently adopted Boston (he was 3). As you can probably tell I have no time, no life outside of school and home renovation... but we make it work! hmmm... anything else... I love the country... but I'm from boston... soooo I'm a bit of a city girl... I love to travel and get to do quite a bit for school... I just got back from Poland... Life is good... except for the weight gain... but that's why I'm here!

So glad to be a part of this team... I have been slacking this first week (sorry guys!) as I have bronchitis... so next week I promise to kick some a**.

    Hi

I am so happy to be in such good company. It took me 12 years to get my undergrad in accting, then only 2 years to my MBA in Finance. Then a few more years to get my CMA (certified managering accoutant) and CFM (certifited financial manager). All those years working on my mind only, and letting my health go, was not good. I admire all of you who are doing both.

Lee updated the map - we made it accoss the ocean!! We rock!!

I feel like this week is busy - I'm going to try to make sure I still get to the gym. The stuff I do around the yard and house wont cut it. I dont know if I'll post great numbers like everyone else, but I want to get a good sweat in at least two days this week AT the actual GYM. Do you all do videos or go to any classes?

Oh yeah - totally signing up for three 90min yoga classes, so that should burn some good stuff in the next few weeks! I can't believe how fast this is goin, we're already over India!!
