I went to the gym this morning and I worked with my personal trainer. We worked on strengthening my leg muscles. We did about 45 minutes worth of time. I'm just not sure how many calories I burned or how to log it for exercises done for today. If anyone has a clue (clearly I don't), PLEASE help!!!!! Thanks so much.....

Only solution: get a HRM... There's not near enough details here. Weight, bodyfat %, what exercises, heart rate, etc. We wouldn't be able to tell you something like that.

I actually log in my strength training in the cardio section on the exercise tab. However, it does not really calculate proper calories expended because it also depends on how you are lifting and at what intensity you are working at and home much rest you are putting in between each set.

I started working with a trainer this summer. I used to ask her about how many calories she thought I had burned, then I purchased a HRM. I use the HRM all of the time....it really helps :-)
  • The trainer I had did different exercise with me keeping my heart rate up (legs, abs, arms, shoulders etc.). It was considered circuit training. I also do the JM Circuits. Depending on what other exercises you did with your trainer you might be able to log it as Circuit Training. :)

She initially started me at a lower weight and I increased it because I thought it was too light. I think that was good, to have it be more weight in the beginning.

We worked on about 6 different machines and also did leg crunches with 50 lb. weights. It was a pretty good workout, but have no idea how many calories it was :(

Get a heart rate monitor to track calories burned.

Maybe your trainer can give an idea of how many calories would be burned in your sessions - ask next time you go
