A question on bumping

I notice that on lots of threads here, people are replying with 'bump'. I know on forums that this is a way to boost a thread up further in the forum if it's been inactive for a while, but I was wondering if it means something different on MFP? Because people are doing it ALL THE TIME, even a minute or two after the thread's been posted on. It really makes threads hard to read, when every second reply is just 'bump'. What gives, MFP?

  • By replying to a thread it goes into "My topics" so you can find it later.....saves having to trawl through pages of threads. I guess bump is just the easiest thing for people to post :)

It's so you can find it later. Your profile keeps a list of topics you have responded to.
