Hi all hope you are all well!

Yesterday I had keyhole surgery on my stomach so very sore at the moment. They have told me not to lift anything for a week (very difficult with a one yr old who can't walk) and no strenuous exercise for 3wks.

I know I have to look after myself but I'm so worried about gaining does anyone have any tips for keeping the weight off?

Lower your calorie intake, thats about all you can do if you are not allowed to work out. Just walk as much as you can and keep it very light as far as a workout can go. Do a lot of arm work outs while your sitting on the computer etc, stuff that does not have anything to do with your stomach.

You will just have to watch your calories for this time, and keep the walking up!

Get plenty of rest (hope you have someone to help out with the little one!), lower your calorie intake just slightly-- stick to protein-based meals, that way you can eat less and feel more full, and remember to get plenty of fluids-- and maybe take a couple leisurely strolls if you feel like it. But your body's recovering from surgery, so as long as you get plenty of sleep and eat reasonably, you shouldn't have to worry about gaining any weight back at all.

Thanks for all your replies I will just keep an eye on my cals for the moment as even getting up and sitting down hurts. Then when its a bit better will try going for walks. I have my older two off school this week so its going to be interesting lol.

    Thanks again :)
