Just popping on to give a warm hello as I'm new here. I'm trying to drop some serious weight before River Festival.

    It's a large celebration that lasts 8-16 days.
    There are many street performers, shopping stands, street vendors.
    Carnival rides, concerts, drinking, ethnic foods, art galleries.
    Bars and clubs open up in the area, there are horse rides, races.
    Basically everything and anything that one can think of!
    All in one area of town. It's 24/7 party town.
    But since it's during the late spring, all the girls are in there bikinis and mini skirts. And I want to join in too! Haha.

    Every time I see Chinese spelled out in English I think of Firefly, the show that brought the Chinese language to sci-fi geeks like me, hehe.

    All I know is Ni Hao because my 3 y/o watches a childrens show called Ni Hao Kai-Lan.

    I used to know more but I'm learning Japanese right now to prepare for a visit from an overseas in-law. She comes into town in August.
