Hi, I've been drinking between 8 and 10 8oz glasses of water per day and I'm still super thirsty. I have to pee a lot and I'm STILL thirsty...any ideas?

drink more water!
Actually I get this sometimes and I'm not sure what it is from. I'm sure maybe extra sodium or something but who knows. When I get this way I try to have a drink with some sugar or electrolytes. Again, i have no idea if that's the solution, but it seems to work for me.0 -
I often drink like 12 glasses a day... so yeah- drink more water if you are thirsty! duh!0

Have you been checked for diabetes. Excessive thirst and frequent urination are signs of diabetes.0

Are you diabetic? That is a symptom of diabetes. Just a thought.0

Just a suggestion, have you had your blood sugar levels checked?
Extreme thirst can sometimes be an early symptom of diabetes.0 -

If this thirstiness continues, perhaps get yourself checked out for diabetes (especially if you're also getting symptoms like blurred vision).
I'm being doom-and-gloom by saying this, I know, but better to be safe than sorry.0 -
The same happens to me, I don't know what's wrong. I drink like 2-4 liters of water a day :S0

My daughters specialist told us the more you drink the more your thirst will increase, I drink water all day, always thirsty and always using the bathroom!
yea try sodium or electorites that should help0 -
theres also ---xerostomia---- which is just excessive dry mouth- which can make you thirsty. they have mouth sprays and stuff at drug stores or see your doc

Thanks for the suggestions. I am pre-diabetic (Runs in my family) and I'm on medication for it. I've been increasing my water but work is getting annoyed with my frequent bathroom breaks.0

I believe it's time to schedule a check-up and invest in a glucose monitor. I'm a controlled diabetic, so speaking from experience, just because you're on medication, doesn't necessarily mean it's going to prevent you from actually getting it.0 -
Signs of diabetes: polyphagia (increased hunger), polydipsia (increased thirst) and polyuria (increased urine). All this happens because the body is trying to get rid of the extra sugar in the blood. If you have diabetes, you may also notice (or others may notice) a fruity smell to your breath.
There really isn't any such thing as "pre-diabetes." You either have it or you don't. Sounds like you do. See your doctor.0
