Hey! I think I have hit a plateau. I was reading in the boards on what do do next and noticed that people recommended adding extra protein. Can anyone recommend an awesome Protein bar or shake that is low-calorie, low/no sugar? Can someone better explain why extra protein will help break through a plateau? I am eating super healthy and working out atleast 3 days a week. I am doing both cardio & strength training. I mix up my workouts often. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Get your bodyfat tested to see where you are.

I had the same problem, and I added the protein mainly through whey protein powder, it helped. I use Pure Protein and it's only 140 calories a serving, it's very filling without making my stomach feel over full or heavy.

I think the added protein is needed because when you're body gets closer to it's ideal weight there is much less fat to burn thru so that energy has to come from somewhere.

    Good luck!

I just use a whey protein powder, add it to my yogurt, milk and ect.

Also it wouldn't hurt to add an extra day of exercise.

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering how long you have "plateaued". I had a plateau that lasted about 14 days where my weight and measurements didn't change up or down. I continued the program through it and then started to loose again.

It has been 2 weeks where the scale has not budged. I am hoping that my weight will continue to drop. I am not too far now from my goal weight...but far enough that I am not ready to quit. LOL I won't give up!
