A sort of silly NSV

I passed my weight loss goals a couple of months ago, so I'm not trying to lose any more and it isn't often I have a victory to share, but I had a rather insignificant one that still made me super happy that I had to tell you all about.

I did a head stand in Yoga tonight!

That probably doesn't sound very impressive, but you should know that:

A - I have the world's worst balance. I like to pretend that it is because my feet are too small for my height (I'm 5'10"), but really it's just because I am a total clutz, especially where balance-related activities are concerned.
B - I have only done Yoga twice before. This was my third class ever - I took one last Thursday and one on Tuesday.

C - I have abysmal balance, just in case you didn't catch that the first time.

D - I have a little head! I have big hair, which makes it look normal sized, but it's quite small. Despite the fact that I am 5'10" - and have big hair - I still have to wear Small hats and put the claspy thing on the smallest hole on baseball caps and can comfortably wear children's glasses/sunglasses.

E - Did I mention I have terrible balance? Because I really, really do.

F - I have never even been able to do a cartwheel - not even as a child. A clumsy somersault is about as good as I could do.

G - Just wanted to make sure you remembered that I have bad balance.

So that's my NSV - I did a headstand!

Granted, it is supposed to look like this:

... and mine looked like this:

Or, since that picture shows a man and I am (obviously) a woman, maybe mine looked more like this:
My-Headstand-More-Like-HURTstand.gif
But regardless, I did it!
Woohoo!

    Good for you!!!!
  • Great job! And I love your sense of humor! I don't like getting my head lower than the rest of my body because of all the pressure I feel in my head. Do you have this feeling, too? Maybe I'm just looking for an excuse, lol!

    What does NSV stand for?
    Non Scale Victory
... basically, an accomplishment that isn't from the number on the scale (as in #s lost). :flowerforyou:

LOL-This is totally my next fitness goal (and I'm not even doing yoga). Much to the delight of my daughters, I busted out a camping mat and have been practicing a couple of times each day in the living room. They laugh and laugh at me. Glad you did this-I can't wait!
