i've been eating back half or more of my exercise calories and have NOT been losing weight. i've been exercising a lot though.... so i'm not sure if the stalled weight loss means i should stop eating back my exercise calories, or if i need to be eating MORE? i've calculated my calorie level to reflect being a lightly active person, but i've been doing strength training a few times a week on top of a few spin classes and running sessions each week. i'd say that i burn about 2500 calories a week just through exercise. am i accounting for the exercise twice by putting that as my activity level AND then inputting/eating the calories back? help!

Did you choose lightly active because of your lifestyle or the exercise?

    a little of both.
  • as you said, you're accounting for the exercise twice! i think that might be the problem.
If you chose "lightly active" cause of your exercises you should stop logging them in addition, because they are already calculated to your allowed calories.

if i was you i would set my activity level to "sedentary" and log every move/exercise extra.
maybe its time consuming but you get an accurate amount of allowed calories every day. just try it out it might help

burning 2500 cals per week is a LOT of exercise. howmany calories do you usually net per day?

With the amount of exercise she is doing, it's a lot more than lightly active. She appears to be moderately to very active. If her normal lifestyle (without exercise) involves a lot of walking (for example: a nurse) and then workouts, her caloric requirements are giong to be huge.

In fact, instead of only eat half your exercise calories, I would bump it up to 80% of them or if you want, go to the tool section, calculate your BMR and let me know what you do (minus exercise) for a living (are you on your feet or at a desk job, student, etc... ) and then I can show you the math.
