is it fair to play possum?

I think that is called "lying".0

if you wanna be a cheater :huh:0

Is it fair to play possum when you're in a weight loss challenge? Call it gamesmanship maybe? Any thoughts on recording a weight loss that's not quite as good as what you really lost?
Would you consider it dishonest if the person you were competing against did it?0 -
Integrity is what you do when nobody is watching.
You decide.0 -

Is it to make the other person feel better or what? I'm not really following why you would0
-
Doesn't "playing possum" mean pretending to be dead?
But if you are in a competition then of course it is not fair to lie. Basic ethics...0 -
Well, now, that would be cheating ... not that I wouldn't do it, but I would consider it less than honest.
If I was on The Biggest Loser and I had immunity for a week, I think I'd drink a few extra glasses of water before the weigh in so I'd have a higher percentage of weight loss the next week.
So, I guess the moral to my story ... I can be bought if the price is right.0 -
We call it "sand bagging" and it is unfair0

Its the same as logging one less piece of pizza in your food diary. Sure You can but your lying and your hurting your self, but your the only one who knows so... I guess you have to be who you are.
Charter is who you are when no one is looking0 -

Hahah It's totally lying, but what's the prize? I might cheat a bit for something awesome.0

Someone actually did this on TBL a couple of seasons ago, and boy, was Jillian Michaels POed! She chewed her out right there at the weigh-in!0 -
I think people should actually read.
I have no problem with it. I wouldn't do it, personally. I don't think it would effect me if someone else did it, either. My loss journey is my own and not dependent on someone else's. But I can see how people would potentially slack off in a competition if they thought they had a solid lead.
A game, is a game, is a game. If that's your strategy then have at it.0 -
What would you benefit from that? Personally I think it would show true character of person if you did that, but to each their own.0
-
ok, so you actually lost more than you said you lost? becasue you wanted someone else to win? Is that whats going on? im confused?0

He means midway through the competition, to give other people a false idea of where they stand in relation to his progress.0

I guess if it s a game to you and you don't want to play fair.

It's strategy. It's called bluffing.0 -

I guess there are games where that is acceptable. I'm not sure this is one of those... *shrugs*0 -
It's hasn't actually happened. It just a suggestion made by a former winner and coworkers. No real significant prizes. It came from the same person who had doughnuts sent to all the other departments that were in the same competition, which I found hilarious. Geez there's some harsh people out there. It's all or fun in this one.0
