Homophones
Options
Come on people! To, too, two - it's not that hard to use the right one.
to - direction, limit, or contact (turn to the the right, grew to 4 feet tall, attached to the wall)
too - To a higher degree than is desirable, permissible, or possible; excessively (me too, too much food);
two - a number (2).
there - a place
their - possessive
they're - they are
This is driving me crazy!
Rant over.

Well, hello their. I'm sorry your having such a tough time with this.
;-)0 -
I appreciate your effort and whole heartedly agree with you. Sadly, this will be lost on most people as we have tried to burn this into brains for a loooong time. No success.0

Bugs me too but can you tell me the difference in layed and laid or payed and paid?

Some more that annoy the living hell out of me:

your/you're
lose/loose
Maybe I'm just pedantic?0 -

I'll add one more....just cuz I'm in the mood.
sore and soar. EFF that pi$$es me off too.0 -
I chalk up most of these to typos, and not re-reading before posting. I see it in my students' work all the time (I teach 7th grade math and language arts, and 7th/8th grade remedial language arts). Most people -I believe- know the difference, but just aren't taking the time to proofread. Since this is an internet forum and not published work, you're going to see a lot of this.0

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That's awesome, even though I'm a Brewers fan.0 -
LMAO! This is why I love you ZH!0 -
Not a homophone, but still a point of irritation. I cannot STAND it when people say "verse" in place of versus. Like versus is a plural version and verse is the singular. Come on, people, the word is versus and it's used as "Ali versus Foreman". It is not "verse". No, no no. :grumble:0

Hahaha, brilliant :laugh:0 -

Actually they aren't Homophones they are pronounced differently(see http://www.educationbug.org/a/lose-vs--loose.html) - Sorry I couldn't resist

Another non-homophone, but still makes me grind my teeth.
People around here say 'jamp' instead of 'jumped'. IT'S NOT EVEN A WORD!!!!

Payed is not a word, to begin with ...0 -
Dear OP.
i totally thought this thread would be about homophobes and yet another poster had spelled a word incorrectly in the title.
