Work and Activity Level

I was sitting here on the coach relaxing on my day off and was just thinking about calories and how I need to eat (even though I am not hungry)

Ok to the question: I am a carpenter so I have my activity level set as Active because I am on my feet all day lifting stuff, climbing ladders, walking on roofs ect... So obviously I need to eat more calories as I burn them through out the day.

Now I took a 3 day weekend and my activity level is still set at the higher calories, am I really suppose to eat those calories or can/should I cut back as I am more sedentary today and the weekend that's coming?

I admit I have started to be so tight on what I eat, I have to force my self to eat the calories I have gotten obsessed and started to plateau as I wasn't eating enough. I don't want to over eat yet don't want to under eat either...

Thanks

~Jake

Congrats on your progress so far.

Because you are less active on your 3 day break, you will burn less calories and if you wanted to, you could reduce your intake.

That being said though, considering you've admitted to obsessing over food intake, perhaps you should use this time to take a brief food-tracking break?

I am just like you... I set mine to active. I am a surgical technologist always moving and lifting heavy people, instruments and such. Work is slow next week so I am at home more. I was wondering the same thing. My plan is to do some extra cleaning. you know the stuff us ladies don't clean every day like windows, closets... maybe you have something to do? A hunny do list??? My hubby is a carpenter as well. We lived in this house for 8 years and we still have no trim anywhere because of remodeling before we moved in. I know carpenter's homes are the last to get done. how about you??? I know my hubby works all day and when he has a day off the last thing he wants to do is trim and other things like that. You could get work done around your house and shock your wife at the same time! or rake some leaves if you don't have a yard leaf lawn mower rake thingie?

I hope I'm not offending, I'm just thinking like I would if you were my hubby and bored around the house.

Yep you have discribed my house to a tee. Bathroom downstairs no trim, no door. Many half finished progects waiting. I am just like him its the last thing on my list. Glad I am not alone. My first half the day has been on the couch and on MFP, enjoing the day but after lunch I am going to the gym and work out for a few hours. Your not offending at all. Its the joy of being a carpenters wife. You could leave this open for him to see and maybe you will get your trim done this weekend

This is the first weekend he is off both days in over a month. He and the kids are into deer hunting. This is the first year the twins are not scared to go. The twins talk the talk but never wanted to walk the walk, till now. Youth season 1 twin got 1 deer and the other twin got 2. David got 1 during bow season, so according to the score he and the kids are keeping he is still down 2 deer. Now it is a competition between them. So, it is almost gun season for deer, so we are headed to bass pro to get the kids another gun. right now the twins are sharing one, so only 1 kid can go at a time. and then he is bow hunting both mornings and both evenings. and he and the kids are going out to put up deer stands. My grandfather was a brick layer, and my grandma got a brick garage after he died. LOL I think it is that way with all trades.
