I just switched it so that my "foods" now registers sugar intake. I'm wondering what determines how much sugar I should be limited to per day...I'm obviously over :) Thanks!

I'm not a nutritionist (I don't even play one on t.v.), but I noticed people with lower weight than me have lower sugar allowance on their diary. I also noticed that when I exercise and log in calories burned, I'm given a greater sugar allowance.
That said, I still go over. Fruit. I don't worry about it. I'm not diabetic. I limit refined sugar, and try to stay under calorie and fat allowance. Obviously if one is diabetic, they must be more diligent than I am.

I find the sugar calculation only mildly helpful, since it factors in sugars like lactose and fructose as well, and I was always under the impression that sugar intake usually just referred to sucrose (of course, I could be wrong). I'm seeing the same problem with my carb intake now that I'm eating more fruit- my carb intake is way higher, even though I'm not eating really that many carbs.

I try and keep my added sugars at 40g or less. But don't worry about natural sugars.
