Hello everyone,
I have been back on MFP for a week and I ave lost 2lbs which is great (especially since I have a 1lb loss goal per week).
I have one BIG downfall: Wine!
I love a couple of glass of wine after a long hard day work and especially on Friday night. Yesterday I had 4 glasses of white wine for the whole evening out. I don't drink anything else such as vodka or beer but it is a lot of calories.
The big issue with drinking wine for me is not only the calories in the wine but it is the fact that my will power is decreasing after a few glasses and I end up eating whatever I feel like, to name is yesterday: smoked salmon, pate and cheese with lots of seeded bread (and I meant loads!)
How to do you do with your drinkies? Have you cut alcohol completely? Are you limiting? Are you seeing it as a reward?
Thanks
Gaya

I've gone from drinking 3/4 glasses of wine per night to hardly ever now. If I'm going to have a drink on an evening I'll have a gin and slimline tonic - if I open a bottle of wine I WILL drink it all so I just don't buy it any more...on the occasional times I go out drinking I'll make an exception and maybe have some wine or beer.0

I just stick to vodka and diet mixers (eg diet coke), much less calorific than wine0

I have pretty much stopped drinking since I started my weight loss journey, I too LOVED wine but found the same thing, when I drank I ate whatever I wanted and hated myself for it in the morning. Other girls at my gym talk about mixing half a glass of wine or beer with diet ginger ale AND making themselves drink a glass of water inbetween each alcoholic drink.
If you are thinking "water isn't going to help me wind down" find something else that will, take the dogs for a walk or just walk yourself, listen to music or cook a nice healthy meal.
Being only 25 I thought that people may judge me for not drinking anymore or pressure me into drinking but once I stuck to it for a few months AND people saw my results (almost 30lbs so far) they laid off and dont mention it anymore
good luck!0 -
budget it into your calories...and try to stick to one glass. i know that i am most likely to drink Mondays when my friends and i meet for dinner and on the weekends (usually only a drink or two for the whole weekend though) so i just factor it into my calories.0
