I can't tell you how I really feel due to all the expletives.

Suffice it to say that this procedure makes HCG look "only sort of dumb", and HCG rides the short bus if you ask me.

Can they put vodka in the drip? Then maybe I would consider it.

I know right! I think the scariest part is this is being offered by doctors the very people that should no better what ever happend to just teaching people to eat healthier, less and excercise i mean i know some people need allot more help than just that but this is being offered to not just the morbidly obese but to just overweight people

Ooo! Sign me up for one of those. I would need a nacho drip to follow though.

ETA: It might put me over my 130 cal allowance though, sad face.

If I'm gonna be hungry 24/7 for 10 days straight, I'm not going to be doing it with nurses around checking to make sure I'm peeing enough (or whatever else, idk).

So....what happens after that? They go back to not knowing how to eat properly or healthily, and gain it all back. Brilliant.

i would have to be unconsicous for 10 days to go without eating for 10 days... they'd have to handcuff me to the bed to stop me from eating actual food...

HAHHAHA. This is especially funny because I'm actually going there after work w/ friends. BUT I've saved calories to allow for it, so it's not TOO bad.

I could see putting someone on IV drip food to save their life but that's the only reason. Digestion isn't just always going to work. The bacteria needs food to live on as much as we do or their numbers dwindle and they're tough to rebuild. I think a lot of weight gain is because that system is much less efficient in these modern times than even just 50 years ago from the use of antibiotics in people and meats alone.

There are pro-biotic supplements and foods that rebuild and fortify that system. i can't see dieting and working out without focusing on digestion as well. Kinda like buying an expensive sports car and never changing the oil, that engine is going to fail.

And I thought my ex wanting to do "just one cycle" of steroids with the aim of losing about 15lbs was mind-numbingly stupid...well, it still is, but this is just RIDICULOUS.

So you place your body on a starvation diet for 10 days, lose the weight for that big class reunion and now your body goes into preservation mode and starts to store extra calories for the next time it is deprived. I think I will stick with Hard Word and Dedication knocking it off 1 lb at a time and adjusting my body to become a better calorie burning machine.

so, are you chained to the bed? and also, WHO's paying for this? Are we on the US Congress' health plan or did you apply to become an illegal U.S. citizen? Because in my town, they pay for viagra for the men, but as a woman you have to pay for your own birth control... end rant

What does that have to do with anything?

Perhaps if you were one of those super morbidly obese that they have TLC shows about... but the article even states that it can be used for only "moderatly" overweight people? Frightening. I suppose if you've got the cash, they'll be a "doctor" willing to do just about anything you ask.
