So I have a question. I am under my calorie goal daily, but I am over on my fiber count often. Is that bad for weightloss? Help please, thanks!

Not that I have ever heard. It might have some unpleasant side effects, but I don't think it will hinder weight loss.

Yeah...unpleasant side-effects. Yeah, i'd say as long as you're not going waaayyyy over, then you'll be ok.

Short answer . . yes. If you are subject to being "backed up" (ahem!) if you know what I mean, too much fiber without adequate water intake can make your gut out of whack.

Also, I would caution you to make sure you are getting natural fiber . . such as that which is found in beans, fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc.

The recommended daily intake of fiber is actually 25-35 g. MFP has mine set way lower than that. Fiber will not hurt you. Fiber is good for you.

Fiber is great. The fiber amount on MFP is the MINIMUM you should be consuming. More is better. Try to balance your fiber from both soluble and insoluble fiber.

The only problem is that if you drastically increase your fiber you may have a bit of an upset tummy for a while and gas.

Thanks for the help guys. And yes I do get the fiber from natural foods, mainly vegetables, I try and have some kind of veggie with every meal!

If thats your principle source of fiber I would say you're fine. Just drink your suggested daily water and never worry about it again. I replaced the fiber column with cholesterol.
