I put myself at a 1200 calorie limit today. I thought that I would easily be hungry, but I'm actually under my calorie goal and not hungry. I don't want to eat after 6 pm. Should I eat something else or not?
Btw, I burned about 190 calories running and did 70 minutes of strength training today.

I would eat til you were at or over. You should eat back your calories or your metabolism will tank with that low of an intake. Granted, I don't know your height, but 1200 is a baseline under which the average person should not limbo.

I'd be likely to have a protein shake if you don't feel like actually "eating"

Why do you not want to eat after 6pm?

Also, it doesn't matter what macronutrient it is. You can eat all your carbs before bed if you want and it won't effect fat gain, (although it could effect water weight).

Listen to YOUR body. If you feel hungry, you need to eat. It is not necessary to eat back your exercise calories. When I tried eating mine back, I actually gained weight. So if you feel that is not right for YOU, don't do it. Just make sure you don't make it a habit to eat too far under 1200 for too many days in a row. I struggle with eating 1200 sometimes, but if you need to eat higher calorie meals earlier in the day, try adding some nuts to your snacks, or maybe add a tablespoon of olive oil to whatever you're cooking. Remember, this is YOUR journey, and there are going to be hundreds of people yelling at you to eat back your exercise calories, but that doesn't work for EVERYONE. Find what works for YOU, and if you find yourself at a plateau...try something new! Experiment! And good luck with your weight loss :)
