HI, I HAVE A GENERAL QUESTION AND WOULD LOVE FOR ANYONE TO CHIME IN ON. OK, I DO CARDIO EVERY SINLE DAY FOR ONE HOUR ON THE TREADMILL, HIGHEST INCLINE ON 4.5 PACE USUALLY EQUATES TO ABOUT 2MILES....WELL I'VE RECENTLY STARTED DOING 35-40 MIN TWICE A DAY DOING INTERVAL RUNNING, WALK FOR 2MIN, RUN FOR 2 ON 6.6, WALK FOR 1MIN, RUN FOR 2 ON 6.6.....FINAL RESULT BEING 3MILES ABOUT 340CALORIES...BUT IM SWEATING PROFUSELY AFTER THIS WORKOUT, I FEEL EXTREMELY GOOD, LIKE I ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING. WITH WALKING ON THE INCLINE, I WOULD AVERAGE ABOUT 400CALORIES, BUT AGAIN THAT WAS AN HOUR OF WALKING. I NEVER FELT AS GOOD AS I DO WITH THE RUNNING THAT I DO NOW. SHOULD I GO FOR THE MOST CALORIES BURNED (THE WALKING), OR SHOULD I GO OFF OF THE INTENSE WORKOUT AT 35-40, FEWER CALORIES, TO ACHIEVE MY WEIGHT LOSS GOALS.

How about you add some incline into the stuff that makes you feel good! The reason you felt good is becuase you had fun and didn't have 1 consistent work out . Doing 1 consistent work out you get bored with it and might take a day off or something. Doing what you are doing now is fun and releasing endorphins!

Wow! I'm impressed, training twice a day is pretty awesome. Depending on your desire to reach your goal at the fastest time possible, I would do the most intense of workouts, however your body needs rest, so I would alternate my cardio training one week incline, the next week your other workout. I would imagine you would still reach your goal fairly quickly. However your diet is where you have to be mindful, seeing that you seem to have your training sorted. Keep up the work, you're going to look great. Janine - South Africa

Do the one you enjoy more - the running.

I actually do both most of the time. I let my MP3 music be my guide. If it's a slower song I put the incline up and slow down to about 3.0 and on fast songs I lower the incline and run anywhere from 4.0 to 4.5 depending on how I'm feeling. That way I'm getting what I like to call my own interval training.

GREAT call on the MP3 player being your guide to the interval training. Never thought of that. I flip through the dang thing looking for songs to "run" to. Thank you for that.

 That is a great idea.....I have a playlist that I normally run to, but I never used it as my guide i just watch the time on the treadmill. Today I will try your way! Thank you again for the advice!! I will definately keep the running up, versus the walking!
