October Iron Man Challenge-- Week 5 The End! (Open Group)

Okay, folks-- so this is it! The month is almost over, so you've got three days to finish up your October Ironman miles as follows:
112 biking
26.2 running/ walking
2.4 swimming.

I've had several people ask if I'll do it again for November, so by popular demand, I will I start a new thread on Tuesday November 1 for the month of November. To keep things simple, I will only post the one thread for the entire month rather than starting a new thread each week--which led to some confusion.

    This has been a joy. Thanks for helping me get up and moving again (September really wore me out) and for continuing this. You can expect to see me in November.

    after 2 full days off:

    10/29: a little mini-tri and my leg didn't hurt at all!

    Run/walk: 2.5 indoor track jog /walk intervals
    Bike: 8.8 exercise bike
    swim :1

    To date:
    Run/walk: 96.8 miles ...really want to make this 100 :smile:
    Bike: 122.5 miles exercise bike
    swim : 10 miles

    so glad you are doing a november...i have really enjoyed this challenge. I figured out i like to swim and can do it while a bit sore:heart: , and that i detest the exercise bike more than i thought but did it anyway as extra:love:

    HUZZAH!!! Pulled it off on the last day.

    Not only was this fun, but it helped me get back in the swing of working out. How great is that!

    When you enter swim or bike data you can do it by your effort. When you enter run data you can only do it by your speed. What's up with that? I did a rather hilly trail run today that was amazing - and Hoo Doggies!!!, did it burn calories! - but you'll never know it by my rather pedestrian exercise entry.

    Regardless, it was a great run. Trails were muddy and difficult to gain traction, rocks hidden under every leaf, tree stumps everywhere, and endless fog. Throw in a few close friends and I gotta tell you, this was a run to remember. I can't bring myself to wash the mud off my shoes. Guess I'll have to clean them the old fashioned way - run in them another time or two.

    Still, even when the mud is gone, this was one of those days that the numbers will never tell the story of joy of the event.
