Im just going to break down

Ive been at this almost 6 weeks. I have been exercising like mad, and I never ever go over my calories (though sodium is my kryptonite!). I drink as much water as I can stomach. And it has literally been 2 weeks since I have lost even an ounce. Im getting to the point Im ready to cry. I cant let this get the bast of me, but this is too soon in to plateau and Im doing all I can.

    Do you eat back any of your exercise calories?

    Have you measured? It is possibe that you have lost inches but not weight? Stick at it - you can do it - it just takes time I promise. I have been at it 2 years and have lost 90lb now, it can be done but patience is key. Try ignoring your scale for 10 days you might see a difference then. Is your diary open maybe I can make a suggestion? Switching to a balance of protein to carbs really helped me. Hope I can help add me if you like Carol xx

    I did the same thing! Two weeks, nothing. Then the third week another pound came off. I know its frustrating but dont give up!!
  • I didnt measure at all until I was 5 weeks in, so I have no clue if Im losing inches yet

    I agree- take measurements - I've seen the biggest results there.... I know each person is different, but I eat back my excericse calories, and the weight has been coming off. I've also had crazy results (down weight) when I've eaten over a couple of days.... I think it throws your body off a little bit.

    Don't give up on yourself, you can do this!!

    If this continuous... i say def. go to the doctor and make sure everything is ok.

    It can be very frustrating but whatever you do, do not give up! This sometimes happen, just reevaluate what you are doing and make a few minor changes. Also, do you eat your exercise calories back?
  • and not usually I dnt eat back my exercise calories. i was maintaining 1200 cals a day, losing weight was told to go up to 15-1600. and i did, now im not hungry but Im not losing
  • dont break down yet! You are most likely starting to build a good amount of muscle which is much heavier than fat. Measure yourself and keep track of that as well as your weight. Because you can lose inches and not lose pounds. I also notice that the first 1-2 weeks of doing things right I wont lose, then suddenly I drop a pound or two. Don't lose hope! Keep up the good work, it'll happen!

    It's frustrating, but it happened. I went 6 weeks without losing anything, then dropped 7lbs in a week. Our bodies just work differently.

    Also, make sure you're eating exercise cals, logging portions properly (ie not logging a tablespoon when really it was a 1/2 cup) and just not giving up!

    You can do it!

    If your exercising hard I think you need to be on a minimum of 1400/1500, give yourself some time

    Tried zig-zagging? I got really tired, had a pint of haagen daz - the entire thing - and lost a pound the next morning. Really. Firstly: the body gets used to what you're doing really fast and it will hang on to everything. Second: don't be so hard on yourself.
  • I have a digital scale for my food so i weigh everything i put in my mouth except when we go out and then I have to rely on the database to help me out there
  • no matter what... keep doing what you are doing. You aren't going to gain weight. You can only lose it, and believe me it will come off.

    Never give up! I know it is so easy to do so. I have to remind myself of that often. Think about the bigger picture and NOT the scale.
    (I definitly don't practice what I preach). You are getting healthier and that in itself is a good thing.

    My weight loss has been very slow..losing a pound..staying the same..losing a pound.. made me so mad too! I went to a dietician and she recommended I have an indirect calorimeter reading done.. Basically, its a test that actually measures your BMR(metabolim).

    It was frustrating to learn that I happen to have a slow metabolism..so despite my 1200 calorie diet and MEGA working out..I still will only lose about a pound a week. Disheartening, absolutly, but, I've come to far to give up.

    You can do it! You just have to find a balance.. Add me as a friend if you'd like.. we can struggle in misery together.. I'm in need of some friends anyway.

    It's crazy but te only time I lose big is when I eat at least half of my excercise calories back. I would try that.

    Wow, sounds like you've been really careful but you're not seeing results. Sorry about that.

    Try upping your calories to right below your MFP target.
    Double check that you are not underreporting calories or overreporting exercise. It's also possible the reverse is true and you're slipping into starvation mode.
    Take photos/measurements. I always hit the thrift store and find a shirt that is just a little too small. Even if I never wear it in public, it's proof things are changing.
    Try changing your carb/fat/protein balance.

    I truly believe,healthy choices will yield results. This is a long journey so please don't get discouraged; you just need to find the combination that works for you.

    It can be very frustrating... don't give up just yet. Remember how you felt six weeks ago? How do you feel physically today? Better? If you give up, you will go back to feeling bad. It's a live style change and you are going to run into plateaus. You can do it.

    hang in there! sound EXACTLY like my experience, then I had to heal from an auto accident and all of a sudden I had dropped 10 pounds. I think my muscles were retaining water and were inflamed from the heavy training.

    Someone mentioned muscles retaining water, and this happens! If you have just started exercising, you can be burning off fat, but your scale won't show it because your muscles are retaining water to heal themselves from all the little tears you cause by building them. Also, you're female. That time of the month really messes with your water weight. I know that for me, there are two weeks every month where I either gain or stay the same, and then two weeks where I WOOSH go down two to three pounds. This is tied directly to my cycle.

    When I first started changing my lifestyle, it took TEN WEEKS for me to lose a pound. I was eating my recommended cals and working out hard 6 days a week. My doctor said I was fine, but that some people just don't lose like others. Even now I'm five months in I have only lost 17 lbs total--less than a pound a week.

    But I have not given up. I worked HARD for those 17 lbs. And along the way, I've been able to push myself to exercise feats I never thought possible. I can run a 5k--me! The fat lady! I can climb three flights of stairs and not get winded, I can swim laps for an hour. My healthier diet has caused acne and psoriasis to drastically improve for me, and I have begun the slow, amazing transformation into not craving sugar so much. There are so many other benefits to a healthy life.

    Two weeks may seem like an eternity. And it's frustrating when you don't immediately see the benefits of your work. But you will. Stick with it, just like everyone is saying. YOU WILL. Be patient. This change you have made in your life is your present to yourself. Don't take it away!
