As a 20 year old male, I would like to announce something that may shock some of you.
I do not have facebook.
I have not had facebook for two years.
Ok I feel better.0 -
I have both open when I'm online. But I spend more time on MFP than looking at FB though.0

My Facebook friends miss me.
I do not miss them. I'm thinking about deactivating.0 -

I use Facebook on my Android and thats about it and am always weeding out A holes from my list and only keeping best friends. MFP has in many ways replaced my Facebook and its a better swamp indeed!0

Every 10 pounds I lose, I put it on FB. At 50 pounds I got 36 likes and 12 comments (just looked it up, ha) along with a bunch of questions asking how I did it. I tell people about MFP but so far have only had one friend sign up.
I'm in an MFP group on FB, so I go there for that, Words With Friends, and will share some random funny pictures or inspirational quotes, but that's about it.0 -
I totally agree! This site could be called Facebook for Fitness. :happy:0
-
Comparing FB to MFP is like comparing apples to oranges
Both social networks , but 2 entirely different planets
One is not "better" than the other, just different people with different goals...all fruity pebbles though ( but that's the kind of people I flock to)0 -
Whats FB? LOL I dont even go on there hardly anymore...
MFP is my new FB and yes I am addicted, and have been......... I am PROUD of it too0 -

Really?? I do get a lot of support on Facebook for fitness things... those are my "real life" friends so I hope they would be supportive!! I posted something about running 2 miles in 20 minutes and about 15 people either "liked" it or wrote something encouraging (even though 20 minutes is NOT an impressive time for 2 miles, lol!!)
I get lots of support on here as well, but the vast majority of my friends on here are not people I know in real life... and while I DO appreciate the encouragement, it is just different than if a real-life friend encourages you.
Bottom line, I like them both, and both are helpful in different ways.0 -
I'm hardly on FB, the only posts are automatic from MFP and runkeeper. I'll occasionally check it to see how people are doing.0

You and my mom were like the only ones liking my status and pictures...lol0 -
Agree...90% of my post on facebook only got there because mfp is connected to fb..so my post on here will hit my fb wall...I only keep my fb,because I have a lot of friends and fam that live so far from me and that's how I stay connected with them..but mfp is where is at...all day errrday0

I actually find the opposite, while I do get support on MFP, I seem to find more on FB, I don't get too many replies here...0 -
I use Facebook to stalk people.
I use MFP to talk with people.
...
:indifferent:0 -
I have both and enjoy both. However, the difference for me between FB and MFP would be the things you can talk about. Whether they admit it or not, friends on FB don't celebrate your fitness victories like MFP friends do. If you post something about a fitness victory on FB people seem to get the wrong idea. But on MFP, there is much better support!0

Aboslutely! I still use facebook, but not nearly as much as I used to...0
