Am I right? Is my binge day what's screwing up my weight lo

I only had about two days over the past 4 months where I allowed myself to be totally out of control and ate whatever I wanted. You know what? I didn't even enjoy it like I used to. For me, I follow the 1200 calorie/day plan pretty well, and most of the time if I allow myself a "cheat" it's about maybe 200-300 calories extra one or two days a month. Rarely does my "cheat" cause my end of the day calculator to indicate I would actually gain rather than lose weight if every day were like that day (like I said, that only happened twice I can think of). Allowing myself to go over a couple hundred calories affords me the freedom I need to be successful. That covers popcorn if I go to a movie, or small slice of cake to celebrate a birthday. If I cheat more often, as you seem to be allowing yourself to do, then I find myself gaining back and losing the same 2 lbs. or so.0

Even then, that's just going to negate a weight loss and result in maintenance. It isn't going to lead to a 7lb weight gain.
I agree, I also agree that it's likely water. Just wanted to clarify since OP was only doing a 250/day deficit.0 -
Thats what my problem was, I would have saturday as a cheat day and just eat literally anything I wanted. The next day I would get on the scale and it would take me until friday to get rid of the extra weight. I would recommend just having a cheat meal instead of an entire day, thats what helped me.
I agree or maybe have something small to indulge on every other day.0 -
Eating an extra 1200 cals a day sounds like a pretty unhealthy habit to me, and you've identified that it's really not working for you, so it sounds like time for a change.
You might be better off increasing your daily calories so you aren't feeling so much in need of a "binge" every weekend.
Or, plan for a special treat meal every now and again, try to keep within your maintenance calories and you should get back on track.0 -
Yeah I think I'll do one day a week of reaching my maintenance calories. Thank you so much everyone for you amazing help!!!0

I stopped my cheat days recently. I started trying one because a lot of folks said it helped weight loss. It definitely didn't jumpstart a weight loss, but I found that I was holding steady week over week. But then I started weighing myself daily and found out the real truth.
I would lose weight all week, then the day after my cheat day, my weight jumped up. And the whole following week, I'd lose all that weight again and the week over week weight would look the same at the end of the week. Once I stopped my cheats I've just been steadily losing again.
So I'd personally recommend stopping the cheating, at least for awhile, and see if it helps.0 -
maybe try to have your binge day but spread it out over the week - ie. monday you have your binge breakfast, thursday your binge lunch, friday night - a binge dessert after a healthy meal and sat night a binge for dinner. this might help you control the amount of calories you take in...0
