I've been feeling a little under the weather (headaches, throat feels funny) and I have no appetite. Yesterday my soon-to-be father in law made dinner and it sounded amazing, but when I saw the food, I got nausated and didn't feel like eating. I've been like this for the past two days, I tried to make myself eat last night, but I didn't eat hardly anything all day long. (piece of grilled chicken & a tomato. that was it.)

Tomorrow I was going to try to get some soups. But is this going to set me back alot? I have 400 calories left over today and I have no desire to eat at all?

It's normal not to have an appetite when you're sick - don't worry about it and just focus on resting and getting well. Drink plenty of fluids and if/when you feel like eating, eat whatever it is you're craving. Hearty chicken noodle soup always makes me feel better when I'm ill. <3 Hope you feel better!

Agreed. Focus on kicking whatever this bug is and getting rest. You can pick up the nutrition gauntlet later on. I would recommend still logging what you do get down just to not lose the habit.

I am still logging but for the past two days i've been incredibly low on calorie intake and I was starting to get a little worried.

There are times when I have no appetite, when I feel like I have to force myself to eat something. I usually try some soup, sometimes that works. Sometimes no matter what I do, I don't eat. It's never good to feel nausea, so don't eat. Who wants to vomit, right. Try to eat better on days that you can, I wouldn't sweat the days you don't....

    Feel better....soon.

Since she is under would you recommend her eating extra when she does get her appetite back? Right now i have 1000 cals left I tried to fill up on liquid cals and such but I am ridiculously under...

are you pregnant? lol. When I was pregnant sometimes I was hungry but sometimes my appetite totally went away, especially at the beginning.
  • I'm at the end (I hope) of a cold with sore throat and no voice that has lasted ten days so far. No appetite either. Like you, I've been eating soup. Mainly tomato with goldfish crackers. I haven't lost any weight but haven't gained anything either. Just remember that we are changing our eating habits for life and this is yet another part of the journey. Be good to yourself by drinking plenty of fluids and getting as much rest as you possibly can. And like the others said, keep logging regardless of the amount of calories you have not consumed. You won't always be under the weather. ; ) Take care!

Nope. Although, I did have to go off my b/control b/c i had two periods in one month and just started back, but we took precautions last month. (i'm only on day 5 of my new set of pills) and I did take a home pregnancy test last week and it was negative.

I really don't think that I am pregnant. I was really good about taking my pills and was off of them for 3wks -- altho I never did have a period this month. but my dr. said that could be due to coming off the birthcontrol pills.

    dont scare me.

Your sick. Focus on getting well. Worry about your nutritional goals once you have vanquished the uncouth, barbaric viral agents assailing your immune system.
