New mom on a journey from Runway model to Fitness Model

Hi everyone!
I'm Carla! I am the mother of a beautiful 3 month old baby girl named Jacqueline Kennedy. She is my life. Before having her I was 146lbs (at 6'0" tall that's borderline underweight). During the pregnancy I gained over 60 lbs and was 205 lbs when I had her. I am a former Runway model who's never had a problem with weight. But now everything has changed. I started working out 6 days/week with weight training and cardio and, through doing this, have discovered a new passion for fitness.
I am now pursuing a career as a fitness model but am still in the VERY early stages. Working out is not difficult for me but eating right is lol! Sometimes I find myself eating as if I am still pregnant (sweets, tons of carbs and just general overindulgence). My goal is to get down to 150lbs with 11% body fat. I am 13lbs. away from my goal but have found that these 13lbs are awfully stubborn! No matter what I do, they won't go anywhere! LOL. I know the reason is because I still have a long way to go with my diet, which is why I joined MFP.
Hopefully by being active in the community, I can find support and motivation to eat better and maybe even help to motivate some of you. I look forward to talking to and connect with you all. I hope that everyone is doing well in pursuing their goals!

It's been a while since I had my 3 babies, but give yourself a little time. I was always told it takes 9 months or so to gain the baby weight, give yourself a little time to lose it. Congrats on the new baby. I also found that breastfeeding helped me get back into shape faster - and good for baby.0

WELCOME..Girl you have come to the RIGHT place!!! Finding MyFitnessPal has made all the difference in motivating me to get serious about losing the 70 lbs I'd like to shed. The food diary is excellent, so easy to use and comprehensive! The SUPPORT, help and tips are great as well!! I've learned a lot in the couple of months since joining in August 2011 and I am confident I will lose the weight I need to. I can’t tell you enough how much I truly enjoy this site. Good Luck on your Journey...continue to have FAITH. :flowerforyou:0

So sorry for not responding sooner! The past few days have been so hectic (a job, new baby and full-time school schedule will do that to you!)
I just want to thank everyone for the positive and welcoming responses. It means a lot. It can be hard to find a truly supportive community to become a part of when there is so much negativity and criticism out there. I am SO glad I found this place! I've had to completely change my diet and workout routine (at the advice of a personal trainer) in order to get myself on track to reach my goals before competition season starts again. It is going to be such a challenge but it's very exciting. It's amazing to find out how much you truly didn't know about about fitness and nutrition once you get the help of a professional. I was going in the wrong direction about so many things lol!
Anyway, I'm excited about my new path and sharing it with all of you! And I can't wait to learn about some of your goals and do my best to help motivate you and offer advice!0
