How much did you spend on Halloween candy?
I read online somewhere last week that the average a household spends on Halloween candy was just over $20. REALLY????? I was surprised by that. We waited until yesterday, bought less than normal and I still spent $38 before taxes. So MFP peeps how much did you spend?

I think mine came out to like $22 after tax. I bought a big bag of the tiny Snickers, Milky Way, etc, and a 95 piece bag of Whoppers, Kit Kat, and Reese's cups. Slightly selfish reasoning on that last bag... I may be losing weight, but this fat boy is going to have some Reese's cups for Halloween
P.S. I live in pretty rural/suburban neighborhood with about 70 houses, and usually get about 50-60 kids coming by. Hope I bought enough, else I may have to fight them for the Reese's.0 -
been in my house 5+ years, never had 1 trick-or-treater. I spent exactly $0 on candy.0

A big fat "zero"! We live out in the country and don't expect any trick or treaters....and there's no point in having it in the house just because....0

$15.00 and I pray that we have lots of trick or treaters until it's gone!
Although I must say, I am making it a promise to the new me NOT to eat any of it with my 50 lb goal in mind!!0 -
$4.99 on a box of 50 and we ate 10 of them. We live in a new-er subdivision but the kids don't really trick or treat so I'm not worried. The past 2 years I turned off the lights from the beginning but hubby wants to be generous this year.0

$20'ish. First year at this house so I don't know how many little trick or treaters to expect!
Any candy leftover will be promptly brought to work for co-workers and NOT left at home!0 -
I normally get over 200 trick or treaters but I feel like I did really good by spending $300

Zip! Zilch! Nada! Nothing! it's my favorite holiday of the year, and sadly, I won't be doing anything this year. we don't get trick-or-treaters, and with the BF and I working so much, i'll probably just go home and go to sleep! ha!0

I probably spent about $40-$50 on candy this year... I bought a mixture of smaller items and made little pumpkin shaped loot bags to give away!!0
-
We spent around $40 this year, we normally get around 100 plus kids!0
-
About $10, we hit up the dollar store where they have the little mini bars of the good stuff.0

Zero zip nada. Live way out in the country. My own grandson doesn't even trick or treat at Grandmas. He gets a card with money, figure he will get enough candy else where. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!0

It depends on where you live:
When I lived out in the country we never got too many kids, so we'd get buy on a bag or two of candy.
When I lived in Uptown in Minneapolis (almost no kids in that neighborhood) we'd get 4-5 kids and that's it.
Now I live in a town of about 12K and we probably get 70-100 kids every year, sometimes 150.0 -
$30 - we have a corner lot and typically get 120 trick-or-treaters0
-
$12. Two bags of candy, totaling 175 pieces of random bits of chocolatey goodness, at Target, each on sale for $5.99. Even giving out 2 pieces per kid, I'm sure I'll have some left over.0

so far nothing and hopefullly I can resist the urge0

Candy came out to about $20-23.00 I think. Two bags of skittles ea of about 30 pieces, bag of twizzlers, bag of gum, two bags of reeces's peanut butter cups and two bags of cinnamon graham cracker bears. I think I did well! :-)

I spent about $8 on stuff my husband and I like. We live in a rural suburb and aren't anticipating and kids. Plus, we won't be home anyway, we're taking out kids into a couple of rich neighborhoods in the city. I only bought candy because I'm pregnant and wanted it.0
