I posted last week that i was stuck and did not know why or what to do cause I was doing everything that the site said to do. In fact I did not have any trouble dropping the weight until I started exercising everyday! I could not believe that I would just get stuck like that after exercising more! I was even eating my cals back and everything. Well I just read an article in Woman's Day about your metabolism. It gave a little chart at the bottom to help you figure out what your metabolism burns every day before exercise and all. It says for Sedentary peeps multiply your weight by 12, Moderately active-x 14-15, and very active-x 16-18. I am some where close to the border between sedentary and active, depending on how much I exercise during any given week, so I went with sedentary to be safe. I am 198 right now so that equals 2376. Now, MFP says if you want to lose 1 lb/week to short yourself 500 cals a day and for 2 lbs a week short yourself 1000 a day. If I subtract 1000 that leaves me 1376 that I should be eating everyday, not counting my exercise cals...so why then, did MFP have me eating only 1200 a day? There is something wrong with their calculations. According to this, I should not have to get down to 1200 until I am at 190 (if I want to keep losing 2 lbs a week) So I WAS right in that the reason that I stopped losing is probably because I WAS eating to little calories a day to begin with before exercising (which WILL slow your metabolism and stop your weight loss). Even by eating my exercise cals back I still was eating to little cause my base what set to low. SO I played with the settings until it gave me a daily calorie limit of a little over 1300 and i will stick to that for a few weeks and see if my weight loss does not start up again and get back on track...everyone that is having this problem should check in to this. You can do some more research and see if you come up with the same formula that was given here but it makes enough sense to me that Im just gonna go with it and see if it helps. I had tried to up my cals a week or so ago but I felt bad about it thinking I was supposed to be only eating the 1200 so now maybe I can do it and feel like I am doing the right thing and finally start getting somewhere again! I will let you all know what my results are!

You don't have to go by MFP numbers. Do the custom goals and enter what YOU think is correct.

If you think Women's Day is more accurate, then use it. Then google and you'll find 100 other sites that give you different numbers.

If you're seriously worried about it, get yourself a body bugg ...

Also, I have no idea how much more you need to lose, but choosing to lose 2lbs a week is too much unless you have 75+ to lose.
Here are some guildeliness on how to choose the right one:

75lbs or more: Choose to lose 2lbs/week
40-75 pounds: Choose to lose 1.5lbs/week
25-40 pounds: Choose to lose 1lb/week
    15-20 pounds: Choose either 1/2lb or 1lb
    Less than 15/20 pounds: choose 1/2 lb/week

I started with 75 on the dot to lose...im at like 48 to go now. I just changed it to 1 1/2 per week :)

I'd be interested to see how this works out for you. I've been to different sites and get different numbers also. None of them seem to match MFP. I did up my calories slightly and was doing ok for several weeks..... now I am at a standstill also. Wondering if I need to up my calories more. Plus I never eat back my exercise calories, so maybe I;m just doing everything wrong, LOL!

yea don't let MFP peeps hear you say you don't eat your exercise cals! LOL that always opens a can of worms :) You are supposed to eat them back. At least most of them. I will let every one know after about a week how it goes.

I know what you mean! That is a HUGE debate on here! I keep thinking I'm going to try and eat them, but then I'm scare I'll gain instead of lose. Decisions, decisions!!!!!
