I'm getting bored with my gym routine. I love taking classes but I'm in school Monday-Thursday from 5:30p-10:30p so that doesn't leave much room for my to take any fitness classes.

I'm not a huge fan of working out at home, but I don't want to keep on skipping the gym. I have an Xbox kinect and a Wii, so I will take suggestions for games also.

I have turbofire, 30 day shred, exercise TV on demand, etc... definitely a lot of options, but I'm looking for something exciting and challenging.

One issue I do have with working out at home is I ALWAYS always always end up with a very, very tight and strained soreness in my right calf the next day and it lasts for a few days. I'm not sure if it has to do with working out on carpet, but it's very strange. It happens when I take zumba classes also (that's on a gymnasium floor). Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks for reading :)

I just joined a gym for the first time ever today because I'm soo bored with working out at home though. I think there are too many distractions at home!

I use the WII EA SPORTS active 2. I have used it consistantly for over a year and am kinda getting bored with it but so far I can't comeplain. I like being able to do a work out I creative so that I can target certain areas. The HRM that comes with it also helps :)

I used the Wii Sports EA Active (have just bought the update for part 1), plus Wii Fitness - dance coach. I do a few weeks of each so not as to get bored.

I have Verizon and I used the On Demand, and go to Exercise TV. I pick a workout based on my mood. Sometimes I feel like dancing sometimes I feel like yoga! It's nice and keeps me working out b/c I have so many options! :) So if you have Comcast or Verizon I'd check out their Exercies on Demand stuff :)

I love TurboFire....30 day shred is a good one since it's quick. I've also really enjoyed the Wii Active. I'd like to get the second one at some point.

I love Just Dance for the wii. I always log it as general dancing and supposedly it burns quite a lot :D Pretty fun too, I also like wii sports.
  • I get the same excessive soreness in one calf the day after working out on carpet as well. When we had berber carpetting, it didn't happen. However in our new place we have plushy-type carpetting and it screws up my lower legs pretty bad. I generally just push through it the next day by walking on the treadmill and doing some stretching, along with massage.

I love Exercise TV On Demand. There is always something new and you can compound a few varieties into one, long difficult workout. As for the Wii, I really like the EA Active and EA Active More Workouts. Both games are adjustable and can be as challenging, or as easy, as you would like.

I like to mix up workouts and often use ExerciseTV from on-demand cable. It's free and has lots to choose from.

The Punk Rope DVD workout is fun to add to the mix. www.punkrope.com I also like to do Tabata or Burst training, these are super fast and effective.... I really should do more of them!

I like the Tony Horton One on One's, you can mix them into any routine and change the dynamics of your workout. I like to change my routines monthly.
