    For years I thought people including myself, shoudl be a better wife or husband ect. Lately I have come to realize that it is more likely that we love the person we are married to, but they are just not that perfect person for us.

    If you need a better husband, maybe you need a different one. If you need a better wife, maybe you need a different one.

    What is not so good for you, may be perfect for someone else. Sitting around drinking beer and not doing anytihng around the house may be someones idea of perfect.

    I know i have busted my *kitten* trying to be perfect and seeing that is hasn't got me that much further away form what I was, if anyone thinks I or anyone else needs to be more perfect, maybe they are just in the wrong situation.

    don't change for anyone, and don't make anyone change for you! Small things are fine, I think being marrie dor in a relationship helps balance you, but just don't wake up one day and realize you have had to change or pretend to be someone you are not just to pease someone else.

    Say "honey you're right.....about everything" and excitedly hand over the wallet saying "go spend like there's no tomorrow".

    Snuggle after the deed is done....yeah we both know you don't want to but that's not my problem.

    When listening to us ramble on about the nothings of the day, just throw out a few "yeah honey's" and "awesome's" and "didn't know that" along with the head nods so we'll at least be halfway convinced you've heard some of what we were saying.

    Just accept you're never going to be "officially" right about anything else even when you are, we'll still tell you you're wrong. We have issues what can I say.

    When you don't have to slave over a stove preparing dinner, just follow up with a thank you honey.

    Lastly....enjoy the pink taco.

    My wife gets that. A massage at least once per week. Chocolate covered strawberries and flowers delivered to work and we go fishing together (her idea, not mine).

    I do the flowers/ chocolate covered strawberries delivered at work just to score extra points with the co-workers. It makes is a lot harder for them to believe her when she complains about me (as I'm sure wives do at work). :laugh:

    for love of god buy her some flowers on some random day...tell her she's freakin' amazing and the place would fall apart without her...tell her that it sucks that cultural norms make her have two jobs (full time job outside the house, and inside the house)...love her, give her back rubs! tell her that nobody will love her like you do! more flowers! A hot date every now and then.

    In reality, there is no being a better this or that when it comes to perception. the only person that matters is yourself. I believe that one should always continue to improve on Who they are. When in a relationship, you are responsible for your side of it. one person does not make the marriage.

    Wow, after reading some of these responses......................I have close to the perfect husband............

    My husband cooks breakfast on the weekends as I cook breakfast all week long.

    In exchange for me cooking supper all week - we eat out Friday and Saturday nights.

    He listens and rubs my feet.

    He goes with me places that I know he doesn't want to go, but does it anyway because he loves me.

    He takes out trash and does the laundry and goes to work everyday..........

    He acknowledges that I am mostly right because he continues to come to me for advice and suggestions above anyone else.

    I am spoiled beyond belief................

    It never hurts to throw out an occasional compliment.

    My husband is the bomb, he cooks, cleans, grocery shops, he's super sweet - and could give lessons (just needs to tell me my *kitten* is looking good a little more, lol)

    My husband is freakin' AWESOME, especially compared to all of these statements!!!
    In all reality though, it's not what he does for me, or what I do for him, it's what we do together!

    Oh, ok. I would be grateful for him doing me the favor of taking care of MY car that I'm responsible for, but what do I know.
