Stupid *kitten* cravings

Hello, My name is Sarah and I'm a sugar Junkie!
So I am on a month long eating plan given to me by a dietician involving all fruit, veg, meat, a limited selection of sauces. One yogurt a day and a bowl of cereal for breakfast. The aim of this diet is to wean me off sugar. I am addicted. I have been on it two weeks and I've lost 7lbs. She told me I could have a cheat day (last friday) for my boyfriends birthday and I went mad!!!
Since then I completely messed up my mojo. I have had the odd craving here and there but nothing I couldn't deal with. Today I craved chocolate so bad I would have licked a sh*tty stick if i thought it remotely tasted like chocolate!
I was over my daily allowance but that was down to eating extra protein to try and curb the cravings. I filled up on veg at dinner. It;s now 23:12 and all I want is chocolate!
Hate cravings and I'm sorry for this stupid post but I'm just venting!!! :grumble:
RARR!!!!

Hmm... it sounds like a day off wasn't good for you at all.
Personally, I'm all for moderation, rather than removing food entirely as I think that leads to craving and binging, but I'm not a nutritionist and I'm not that crazy over chocolate/ junk food (odd, I know).
I'm aiming to eat as I'm more or less planning to eat for the rest of my life. That involves a bit a choc/cake/eating out/wine etc. but much less than previously. I'm not eating some takeaways i.e. pizza 'cos I can't just eat a bit of them and they're SO high calorie for so little food. But generally, I'm eating like a normal person rather than someone on a diet.0 -
its halloween ! have a chocolate or 2 if you need to have something dont deprive yourself 100% from it becuase it will only make you less willing to follow through. just dont go over board and stick to a lotted amount

Cravings will derail almost any diet which is why I don't endorse cutting out foods you enjoy to any of my clients. Consequently, I have a very low rate of clients who regain weight after reaching a goal. LEARN to eat the things you like in moderation.0

haha i love your sh*tty stick comment. I have those days to. just try to be strong and know what when you give into those cravings the cravings will never go away!!! you have to try to get it somewhat out of your system... I'm in the same boat right now. Not with sweets but all the salty party food i have been eating... gaww :sick:0

Whenever I have any sugar I am messed up for days. Drink lots of water, review your list of why you want to get off sugar and be healthier, keep yourself busy with activities that make you feel good, preferably ones that are not associated with sugar ie. coffee and cigarettes for some people. Hang in there. you can do this and as my mother always says, "this too will pass."0

I agree with all in moderation and I was doing this. I did have serious problems with eating a whole packet of biscuits (cookies) instead of one! So she felt that I should stick to this for a month and gradually reintroduce carbs, refined sugar etc.
I have had no heartburn or digestive problems since and have bags more energy! I'm hoping today is just a bad day!0 -
Here's a good trick. Eat something salty. I usually go for Dill Pickles. Low in calories and I NEVER want something sugar after something like that.
I am an all or nothing type person so I can not just have a little bit to 'satisfy'. One is too many and 100 is not enough!
Dill pickles are my friend. I have at least 3 different kinds in my fridge at all times!!!0 -

Haha me too, I just opened this up to be a smartass and say "You're craving *kitten*!?!?!?!?!?!?!"0 -
I imagine that it's probably worse this time of year, with it being Halloween and there be sugar aplenty...0
