Hi .. I guess what I am looking for are some suggestions and or people that may hold me accountable for what i am doing. I started out my weight loss about 2 years ago , start weight 267lbs. I am a very spurratic weight loss person in that I can only seem to stay motivated and on my eating goals for about 3 months and then i crash... I am down to 199 and have only gained a few pounds that I lost back (I was at 195) I am still exercising semi regularly, not as much as i did in the summer, but find myself binge eating on sugary treats...any suggestions or anyone willing to be my motivation and my partner in accountablility ???

I have a sweet tooth too. I suggest #1 Extra Dessert Delights. #2 Allow yourself to have desser once a week- as a reward for hitting your calorie count everyday. On the day you have your dessert, cut back on other things to stay within your calorie count.0

"a moment on the lips is a lifetime on the hips" i heard on a tv show and when i exercise i say "cuter butt, smaller jeans", over and over again
just treat it like a game. it's fun to stay within the boundaries, kinda like coloring... stay in the lines lol and good luck to ya0 -
I have the same problem with sugar....the only thing that has worked for me is completely cutting out refined and artificial sugar. Basically I only use honey and very rarely. After a few days it's like I get the sugar out of my system and can go along fine without. But if I go ahead and have a little...then I am back to square one (like today! lol) and crave massive amounts of sugar. Good luck!0

I have a huge sweet tooth too and its really hard for me to resist some days. But you gottah remember to keep your head up and you can always start over tomorrow. One day will kill you and if you feel like you reeeeally gottah have something sweet then make sure to try and exercise it off.0

Same as one of the posters said I literally cut all sugar for almost a month, i use to crave something sweet every time i ate, i knew it was causing my weight issues or part of them. It was hard as hell but for a month nothing. Now I don't feel bad when I do have some occiasnal sugar its like i broke whatever was causing the craving. I can allow my self to have certain things and I am ok with a bit of sweet and keeping it in my guidelines. The other thing for me was completely cutting out all soda whether it be diet or regular.0

Clementines are in season, and those are super sweet! 35cals, 1.5g fiber apiece0

I am so tempted that I do not have sweets in the house for me. I have two rules that I abide by. I only eat in the kitchen and I only eat sitting at the table.
I am a caregiver to my aging father and I seem to be baking him a rhubarb pie a week. That is not an attraction to me for I view it as "his personal pie." I do buy Klondike bars for him and again, they are just for my dad. Hands off, don't touch.
I will snack on nuts, but only 1/4 cup at a time. Again only at the kitchen table usually with a cup of tea. Making the tea, requires time to really think about eating those extra calories.
My mindset has much to do with my weight loss. I am doing this only for me. My goal is to be healthier, and this is forefront in my mind. Keeping my goal there helps me when I really crave something sweet. I just say "no way" it is not part of the goal plan.
Best wishes, Peggy0 -
I have the same story as the others you see here. this is the hardest time of year for me. It starts with Halloween, then my birthday, my husband and daughters birthdays, all in November and all mean a birthday dinner / cake, then thanksgiving and the famous pies, then the Christmas cookies! From late October thru December everyday is a fight with my sweet tooth!
I will send you a friend request and we can motivate each other!0 -
I have a sweet tooth and when I avoid all candy and sweets day in and day out it has caused binges in the past for me. I am looking at this as a life time change. For me that means I can and do have sweets and treats so long as I work them into my daily alotted goals and calories. By exercising and earning extra calories I can have things and by having things in moderation I am not temped to binge.
I am sitting here now eating my carefully logged Halloween candy and drinking my tea. When it is gone - I am done. Some nights I fix my husband a dish of ice cream and I have a tea and a few Milk Dud candies -- he is happy - I am happy - it is working for me. I made my choice and I do not feel deprived to choose what I want to 'spend my calories on'.
Each person has to find the balance that will work for them. Experiment and see what helps you find the balance you need to stay the course succefully. It feels great to determine what is 'working' for you in the challenges along the way.
Don't give up - you can do it!0
