Signs that your bra is getting too big?

So, I'm not exactly sure of the signs that tell me I need a new bra, considering that I've never lost a bra size in my life.
I'm currently a 36DD. But now that I'm losing, it may be getting too big.
I'm not filling out the cup as I used to, and the straps are as tight as they can go and they still manage to fall off.
Any other signs that I should look for?

  • Check out the band around your body. That will get to be loose (could be the elastic going out depending on how old the bra is) and not support you like it used to.

Okay thanks, I'll check it out when I get home.

Also, look to see if the cup part is riding up into your armpit a lot more than it used to! I'm having this problem right now, and its with bras I just got about 4-5 weeks ago. I need to go get sized, but was hoping to hit my goal weight first (9 lbs to go).

My first clue is when my the cup does not lay next to my breast. I generally wear cotton underwire bras and when the material is not against my skin...it's time to get re-measured and get new ones.

    It's too big if:
    1. The band won't hold the girls up without the straps
    2. The girls slip out from under the band
    3. There is room inside the cup
    4. The back strap is riding up-this should be evenly placed around your torso

If you have one nearby I highly recommend going here for a fitting. www.myintimacy.com

I'm experiencing all of these! I'm even turning my upper body and the band is moving with it, lol. I wanted to wait until I hit at least 150, but looks like I may need new bras now :/ thanks!

If it is a sport bra... if you can pull it down to your waist... well past time for a new one!

I overheard my daughters talking about getting measured at Nordstrom's for free and then having the sales person bring out several bras that they recommended. There's no obligation to buy though my daughter did buy 1 and then found a couple of the others online for significantly less. (my daughters are both married with children)

I put it off, too and it was a mistake. I spent too many months pulling the band down every time I moved. I also noticed that when I switched into the smaller one, I looked even better with my new clothes, etc.

    Congrats on the loss!!

Me too! I was having a really negative attitude, and felt like my boobs were saggy and flat, and then I got a new bra on super sale at Target, and I feel like a new woman!

I thought my newish bra was poor quality & the elastic was gone in it before I realised I'd dropped 2 sizes lol

I've bought 1 new cheap bra because I don't know how much more I'm going to lose from them. I kinda miss my overweight boobs though :(

Mine won't get tight enough (yay) and there is slightly more room in the cups.

But considering I was like a 32 A/B before this doesn't exactly please me XD

Also the "online bra size calculators" are not accurate, at least not for me. You really have to try on quite a few to find the one that will work for you.

Sounds like you need to get measured and get new ones.

I'm defininitely with the get measured and shop for sale ones to tide you over, you can live with just two.

    Well done!

I lost 3 sizes in my boobs:( So sad......... Even dresses don't fit right anymore, or tank tops, or sports bras. And I've only lost 20 pounds or so.

If you are experiencing any of the above, get out your tape measures and visit this site and see what bra size you really are now.....

  • Currently going through this...sadly lost one of my D's...at least in the 38. Going to VS for a fitting soon, I really think they need a weightloss exchange and rewards program LOL.
  • Haha, you all are inspiring, thanks everyone!
