newbie in need of advice

Hi All
I've been using mfp for a few weeks now, thought I'd introduce myself here. Hubby and I have joined a local gym and we're trying to go either to gym or classes 3/4 times per week, plus I also go to pilates once a week.
I have a query about exercise calories. From what I've read here, I should be planning to eat back some if not all of my exercise calories, which I understand, but is it ok if I spread that out over the week? So my weekly net cals is the same as my goal (~1400/day) but some days may be 900 net, and others 1900 net, but it balances out over the week. For example last week I was out for dinner on Monday, so net calories were well over 1400, but the next day I did a step class, and the 2 days balanced out?
Hope that's clear, I'd appreciate some advice, don't want to put myself into starvation mode!

I'm pretty much the same way. So far, so good. I just really try to kick my own *kitten* at the gym after a bad day.
